Not a complete shutout. B-Hop won 3 rounds imo. RJJ was nearly untouchable in his prime

Just because you don't toy with someone, doesn't mean you didn't dominate him. Bernard has a super hard head and he kept coming, but he was supremely outclassed. Floyd didn't toy with Canelo or the Ghost, but he dominated both. I think Roy beat Bernard worse than Floyd beat those guys. Because Roy had toyed with everyone, him actually fighting someone for real seems like a close fight. In actuality if you watch it, Bernard had absolutely zero success at doing anything, and Roy, fighting very carefully (like a fight is supposed to go) because he had to against a top 5 middleweight of all time, easily won, dominated him. Not like when he toys with people dominate, but how Floyd beats everyone dominate. Roys level of domination was just so extreme, that when he actually did have to buckle down and fight like a boxer (only happened once in his life and it took a guy of Hopkins ability to bring him there) it seemed like he had a hard fight. In actuality, Roy donated Bernard, in the fashion that Floyd has dominated Marquez and Canelo.

Bernard could do absolutely nothing in that fight. Nothing at all. Look at him and tell me what success he had. He was getting hit flush with multiple punches after about round 6. Roy had him figured out by then and every time he came in he got peppered. Bernard is just one of the toughest fighters of all time so he kept coming.

No way he could of ever won more than 3-4 rounds against a Prime Roy. Nobody has every had the tools to do that. He was the closest and he wasn't even close and Bernard probably would of beaten every other middle weight in history including Ray Robinson.

It was impressive but Hopkins wasnt the same as he was in his MW reign. Hopkins was green and that was biggest step up to date at the time so although Roy looked phenominal it wasnt BHop at his absolute peak.

Roy was further from his Peak than Hopkins was. And for me that was Hops Peak and his best shot to beat Roy. After that he got slower and weaker, all recipes for a worse but kicking in Roy's Prime. Roy was 24, Hop was 27 by the way.

Three years later Roy would of been toying with him.

Wasn’t Roy at his absolute peak either. Roy Moved up and fought tougher comp, B-Hop stayed and fought bigger names.

Don’t let B-Hop beating Tito and Oscar fool you into thinking he had a chance with a prime RJ. Also the Oscar fight was pretty competitive until he got stopped. Roy would have had both Oscar and Tito out of there the same night at middleweight.

Hopkins fans use the whole “too green” excuse so they can sleep at night.

Exactly, Hopkins was winning before Roy and he was winning after Roy. Somehow he is “too green”.

Hopkins didn’t want it again, thats why he turned down the more than fair 60/40 offer from Roy, who was p4p the best at the time, more marketable, and already won a fight with Hopkins. It is a one of the biggest ducks in history of the sport, especially when he fought Roy almost 10 years later and gave Roy a 50/50 fight when Roy didn’t deserve it.

Roy says himself during the Hopkins/Allen 3 fight that he was a Lightheavyweight on fight night and Hopkins didn't gain any weight. Said he knew that going into teh fight, which is why he was so confident. Because he was bigger than everyoen at 160.

That and the fact he beat him before at middleweight.
