I agree. I see Maidana doing the same thing to Broner in the rematch, probably stopping him this time. He doesn't have the power at 147 that he did at the lower weights, he fights too flatfooted, gets tagged too cleanly, and doesn't throw enough punches. Plus his stamina is questionable and he doesn't adjust. I don't see how he will miraculiously overcome all these shortcomings to beat Maidana in the rematch.

If anything he should rematch Paulie just to build his confidence and get another 147 fight under him so he can adjust to the weight. Or move down to 140 and see what he can do there.

Why this fight isn't on the Mayweather undercard is beyond me. They could stack that card with Broner-Maidana II, Keith Thurman vs. Porter, and Garcia versus someone (Guerrero) and it would be a great PPV imo.

That style is fine against 130-135 lb guys when you're the bigger stronger faster guy. He trys that against maidana, he'll get caught and he will go down again. He needs to fight Maidana the same way Floyd would..stick and move,in and out and try not to eat any flush shots cause he doesn't have the chin Floyd has.

Had he just moved on never rematching Maidana, I would've jumped off of his wagon asap.

This rematch is a MUST for AB....any other fight would've made me start looking at him differently.....he knows what he have to do and I expect him to stay smart and disciplined....he'll be alright!!!

Add to that the reality of this fight being the best thing for Maidana. I don't see why people would complain about it.

Unless you considered him as Floyd's next opponent? Thats probably 3-4x the money right there and Thats better for Maidana. I'm only mentioning that if in fact there was no rematch clause and they are forcing Maidana to rematch Broner.

Broner has to do what he has to do to win period. My point is that he can't sit back like he did last fight. We can discuss strategy, but the bottom line i that Broner can't sit back and look to shoulder roll Maidana's punches.

I don't know how much Maidana would have been paid as opposed to what he'll make in the rematch.

I do know that if Maidana fought Floyd, he'd lose the fight and his title rather easily.

He can and should beat Broner, he's making for money in the rematch and he keeps his strap.

I agree he loses 12-0 or 11-1 to Floyd.
I also agree its his most lucrative option without Floyd.
                  Take care.

If He loses again in an immediate rematch he becomes a stepping stone. He should go down to 140 and rebuild his name.
