He fought Roy because he wanted to, it was personal.

He retired when he wanted. Have zero problems with that, he came out at an era when the best guys were almost done or older, that wasn't and isn't his fault. Still think he would and can compete against the best at their prime but that's my opinion, genuinely the best British fighter over the last 30 odd years, much much better than the glorified club fighter Ricky Hatton.

I understand some of the criticism Joe gets from hardcore fans but I also have a ton of respect for him too. The way he retired whilst still being the man was something all boxers should admire and follow rather than stick around and taint legacies. How many great fighters hung around too long? Too many to count really so I respect Joe for not doing, must have been hard.

Hand problems did for Hamed too. Had a pretty good career Joe, but it wasn't what it could have been.

I'm sure his picking RJJ also had to do with it being a bigger payday. I just wish he could have fought a near prime RJJ because I feel that fight would have resembled round 1 every round until the ref would have stopped it or Joe not beating the count. but hey it is what it is, they fought when they did and Joe got the W

Yes JC seemed visually to lose power and slap towards the end of his career. But even during the beginning of his career he slapped if im correct, but he at least slapped with power ko'ing people and was known to ****.

But IMO JC kind of downplays his injuries, and only brings it up once in a while which suprises me. If you cant train you cant expect to fight, yet he brings up the subject of coming out of retirement sometimes as well?
