May, just may have been the case 2 or 3 years ago.

You must be aware by now that one of GGGs assets is his ability to cut off the ring using his the angles and his constant readiness to punch. Sergios mobility could get him outta trouble some of the time, but sooner or later he's gonna get caught. What does Sergio do when he gets caught? He tries to fight his way out... that's who he is.

He's gonna get caught, not every time, but he will, and when he does he'll get hurt and it will slow him down. When he slows down, he'll get caught more often. There's only one way I can see this fight going now.

Make no mistake, I'm a big fan of Maravilla but 39 YO Sergio will not win. IDK if a younger Sergio could have won - it's a fight I would have loved to have seen.

If he won't fight Pacquiao, there is no way in hell he'd EVER step in the ring with Gennady. I just l love that GGG will man up to fight anyone and in their prime!!
Wow amazing what people come up with. Ward came out of a tournament and beat the top dogs at 168. He then fought and TKO'd the #1 guy at 175. Granted his last fight against Rodriguez was pathetic and deserved criticism, but to say he is protected and won't fight the best is beyond laughable.

Of course they want to call out old ass Sergio, by the time they fight (if they ever do fight) he'll be 40. Of course Sergio would have no chance

In any case Stevens made it 8 rounds. For them to think Sergio wouldn't make it 7, i dunno know bout that even if he is 40
So now Stevens is way smaller than him? Height has nothing to do with it. I'm pretty sure you know his previous fights and at what weight he fought at. Height isn't an indication of what division you should be in. And it's harder to KO someone who has that high guard defense all night, hence Gennady going to the body so often. I didn't think Curtis would last that long but to his testament, he was game but over-matched.

Yet GGG has not yet FOUGHT ANY LEGIT GUY in his prime. What are you talking about, Rosado B-Level JMW fighter, Ishida B Level past him prime fighter, Stevens- No skill B-level fighter, Proska- B level and unproven fighter. Plus they just had an article with Sanchez and his team even saying that they were not interested in fighting Ward right now who is an A+ level fighter in his prime. This myth of him fighting anyone from 154-168 is starting to get ridiculous. I like GGG and I am a fan and think he is exciting but lets not ride his balls so hard until he fights a legitimate guy I am sure he is as skilled as we all THINK he is but he has yet to prove it against a high level guy and there are more people in the MW division besides Quillen,Sergio, Sturm there is still a host of other fighter ranked in the top 10-15 and I heard that Geale is interested in fighting GGG but HBO did not want to televise the fight instead they are pushing for another mismatch against GGG and 154lber James Kirkland.

And old Sergio would still run laps around GGG. His trainer is stating that he would get Martinez out of there by the 7th round based on whats going on in sparring, however no one in sparring is at Sergio's level. Sergio's resume speaks for itself. GGG beat guys like curtis stevens and Nobuhiro Ishida.....Trying to make him this monster......smh......

It's quite comical how Macklin all of a sudden becomes a bum since GGG iced him. He's almost never even mentioned.

A prime Sergio versus a prime Golovkin would have been a brilliant fight. Its a white washing now. I'd still like to see it but I don't think Sergios body could go 12 hard rounds. I just dont see the fights for GGG at middleweight, we know murray is scared ****less, barker wouldnt have fought him to begin with and hes cooked, sturms been avoiding him for years. I guess geale said hed fight GGG? I'd want to see that. The only middle weight who would fight him is junior and he cant make 160 anymore.
