I sense Bob Arum's greasy hands moving behind the scenes. He is most likely whispering in Guerrero's ear and advising him what to do.

The old bastard is desperate after the Pac-Rios ppv flopped. He needs another marketable opponent for Manny but the cupboard is bare at Top Rank. And rather than offer Golden Boy a fair fee for the use of Guerrero he is going to try to steal him outright.

Guerrero is a sore loser and doesn't deserve the Pac fight. Other fighters do who work hard and dream for the one shot. Why did this lawyer have him sign the contract if he was so competent then? I am for GBP on this one.

I wouldn't say steal. Guerreo knows the beef between to the two sides and understands that if he wants to fight a TR guy he has to do just like Bradley, JMM and Mosley did. He's looking for an out, and may have found one. Who knows if Bob is whispering in his ear. Yet for making such a dramatic move one would think he would have some security of getting a fight with them at the very least.

At the end of the day you can't knock Guerreo for doing what HE thinks is best for his career. If he wants a certain fighter, he's doing what he needs to do to make it happen.

A lot of people are just mad at the situation as it once again exposes the fact that fighters must leave their stable to get another fighter and Floyd has nothing to do with it. Which is what really pisses people off because they can't link the two together anymore.

There's a few things that are pretty funny here. First, just because your the number one contender doesn't mean your the mandatory opponent. The Sanctioning body has to announce the mandatory opponent and though it is usually the number one contender it can sometimes be the 2nd or 3rd contender as well. And correct me if I'm wrong but Guerrero was never announced as Floyd's mandatory. I don't even recall him being ranked at number 1. In fact Guerrero could have been made number one for the purpose of the Floyd fight. So this claim of violating the Ali act is a reach. Now if you sign a contract under the state law of New York, California does not have jurisdiction to rule on any matters of another state. It does not matter where you live or work, you are beholden to the contract and the law of that state. As well as Guerrero signed the contract, with approval of this lawer knowing that it had been written under NY state law, which means that the two have no leg to stand on. So any violations of California law as it pertains to boxing contracts will hold no baring and can not be violated on less the is a question of constitutionality of the contract.

If this were to be allowed then any boxer could move to any state after signing a contract then claim the promoter violated that states law and be freed of contractual obligations. Lol do you see how silly this is.

Guerrero wants to leave because he's greedy, he always wants huge paydays and never wants to fight anyone. Now he's probably been told that he can get a Pac fight with TopRank so he's moving on to them so he can fight Pac, lose, and then retire.

They're all liars. King, Arum, Schaffer, Goosen, etc.

Difference is at least Schaffer gives us good cards to purchase, just like King did before him. He may very well be screwing fighters as all promoters do, but at least he ain't screwing the fans.

Floyd tore his overrated ass up, now he's looking to cash out with the pacman.

If Keith Thurman is suchlike a joke he should fight him instead of making excuses to get out of his contract. Just man up and get uncle bob to buy out his contract
