Rigondeaux banned from HBO

HBO Boxing has been a national treasure. I'll always honor their contribution to the world of sports entertainment however the face of the organization has become mutated and ugly in recent years. This Rigondeaux business is sinister.

They really should hold a Rigo fight in Miami. It gives him a fighting chance to draw a crowd because A) it is Miami and B) Cuba is not far and people with dual citizenship in Miami would fly from Cuba 45 minutes to see him.

That being said....it won't help him on HBO. Apparently no one is watching him on TV (Lowest ratings ever) so while he might draw a bit more in Miami he's not going to be televised.

This is a joke that he won fighter of the year...his fight last December was the worst fight of the year.

Not only should he be banned, but he should be punished. As least fighters like Money and Son of God try to change in the ring when they hear the boo birds, this fool (El Chacel) think that he's owed a 6 figure pay day for bringing in the lowest ratings in HBO for 2013 and causing paying customers to leave the arena in disgust.

He is a great boxer (probably p4p 10) but at this level if you want "CASUAL FANS" to take you seriously and a premium cable network to air you....YOU MUST ENTERTAIN!!!


Right now, El Chacel is unwatchable and must be banned from visual consumption until he realizes that our vision is precious and our entertainment value IS A MUST!!!

I dumped HBO since the first time they were threatening to not put Rigo on. I told Cubanborn to do the same but I don't think he did.

Rigo needs to leave Top Rank and HBO

This is one case that could bring Top Rank and GBP together...Why not GBP buyout Rigo's remaining contract? I'm sure Bob is ready to give him away or so it seems.

As for the Cuban thing. I tend to agree...The last great cuban champion on the world stage or HBO was Joel Casamayor..On a more current note They are giving Mike Perez some airtime soon. He's the heavyweight to look out for. Dude is a beast.
It is pretty difficult to ignore how horribly often Erislandy Lara gets the shaft though
