You don't seem to understand anything. He's bound to Top Rank by a contract...a c-o-n-t-r-a-c-t. I suppose you may know what that is....?? He has the freedom to renew them as each contract terminates. He has found that to be beneficial for him, his family, his career and his future. Which is why he renews.
Any other "binding" is purely in your imagination....unless you want to regard loyalty, and gratefulness, as "binding" elements.Comment

What do you think I was talking about you moron? He BINDS himself to TR by keep signing contracts with them that binds him to fight for TR for multiple fights. If he was smart he would sign for 1 fight at a time instead of being cycled through loops. Signs a contract for TR for 4 fights. But he only fights once or twice a year which means he will be bound to them for 2 years or more. That sounds very smart doesn't it? Now hes in a rematch galore over at TR.You don't seem to understand anything. He's bound to Top Rank by a contract...a c-o-n-t-r-a-c-t. I suppose you may know what that is....?? On one hand I understand where you're coming from, your relationships are most likely rooted in loyalty. You're probably a great friend to have but understand Bob Arum is not Manny's friend, Bob is his promoter. That frames their relationship going forward as a business one and not one based interpersonal dynamics rooted in mutual trust and respect. Bob's out to make a buck and Manny should be out to make a buck.
Self-interest should be deeper than loyalty when you're dealing with a career. If the business relationship is no longer mutual beneficial and Manny opts out, he isn't a traitor he's merely looking out for who he should be looking out for, himself.Comment

He should leave. Why waste the last years of his career in lame rematches and doing the Top Rank in-house fight circle jerk?
Plenty of fresh, attractive matchups for him over at Golden Boy.
That would also be a good way to get out of the tax debt he inexplicably finds himself in after years of being a huge money maker.Last edited by ShoulderRoll; 01-06-2014, 02:19 AM.Comment
