Because they did leave their promotional companies. They may not have broken their contracts to get the fight, but they refused to re-sign with the promotional company and had to sign a multi-fight deal with top rank in order to fight Manny. Manny had the opportunity to be a free agent for the one fight he claimed he wanted, but he refused to do so. Truthfully Manny should be a free agent anyway. Their is no reason why the second highest grossing fighter in boxing should be getting 10s of millions of dollars less than the highest grossing fighter in boxing per fight.
