To fight Manny? Do they not understand what a binding contract is? You don't just decide you want to just up and leave your contract. If you do, you get sued. Or are they saying these guys bought out their contracts to fight Manny?

They had to wait out their contracts and not resign before being given a Pacquiao fight. = Forced to leave if they wanted to fight Pacquiao.

Explain what? Doesn't change the fact that he was forced to do it even if he fought 1000 times before or after.

If the latest rumors surrounding WBA and WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez are to be believed, he could be on the verge of leaving long term promoter Golden Boy in hopes of securing a third fight with rival Manny Pacquiao.

And he wouldn't be the first fighter of late to do so.

Shane Mosley left Golden Boy, secured a big money fight with Manny Pacquiao despite a lackluster recent run, and even if unsuccessful will likely have the possibility for rematches against the likes of Miguel Cotto or Antonio Margarito. In short, it looks at the moment as if leaving Golden Boy at this stage of his career was likely a good move for Mosley.

For Marquez too, signing with Top Rank could be the opportunity he has been waiting for

Look, it's simple. When Pac was the p4p number 1 and the big draw in boxing, Arum would dangle the carrot of a Pac fight to fighters on the basis that they leave their promoters - JMM, Mosley, Bradley. The first two were GBP fighters. At that point, Arum seemed hell-bent on destroying GBP. In fact, a part of me feels that it was the main motivation for pursuing that god awful Mosley fight.

Now that Floyd has all the leverage and is the undisputed star, GBP/Floyd are giving Arum a taste of his own medicine. They wanna get Pac out of TR, they wanna take Arum out of the game.

The thing is, when Arum was doing, it was shady and people called him out on it.

When Floyd says Manny has to leave TR, the Flowmos whole-heartedly agree - sometimes even under the hilarious pretence of caring about Pac's finances. No, you mother****ers, you repeat that shiet cos Floyd said it. As usual, you parrot his nonsense without stopping to think for a sec what he is actually saying - wait, why the hell is one fighter demanding another fighter leaves his promoter before he will fight him?

Can anyone think of another example of this in boxing history? A fighter refusing to fight cos of who the other guy's promoter is?

I do think Pac should get away from Arum/Konz but it should be on his own terms and because he has decided he wants to - not because that other dude might....might fight him if he does.

Again, I will give this hypothetical example - imagine if Murad Muhammed was Floyd's promoter and Pac said he wouldn't fight Floyd unless he left Murad, how would our beloved Flowmos react?

I don't care for this fight at all anymore - however, this demand from Floyd that he must leave Arum is one of the shadiest things in this whole sorry saga.

He let his contract expire and singed on with TopRank in order to land a Pacquiao fight. If you're under contract, you can't just sign with another promoter like Pacuqiao did. Thats a no no but, while under contract; they were obviously lured away by Arum.

He left when his contract was up. In trying to be a smart ass you're finding a distinction where this is none.
