    2. use the jab and double jab to force serg backwards

    3. attack the body to slow serg down after a few rounds

    4. stay aggressive

If cotto can do those things, i think he has a shot of slowing serg down, and taking over after 6 rounds and with the crowd behind him, i can see cotto getting a close decision unlike murray
The big differences will be that they won't be fighting in an outdoor arena in a rainstorm and hopefully Sergio won't break his hand in the second round and won't be fighting with a bum knee.

Did he break in the 2nd round in both the Murray and Chavez Jr. fights?

No, I think he broke it in the 4th round of the Chavez fight. I'm not sure if he broke it in the same place but I know he punched Murray's elbow in the second and that's what did it in that fight but he went 8 rds in the Chavez fight with it messed up.

Better he try and batter him when Martinez has slowed down a bit in the latter rounds but battering Martinez shouldn't be anywhere in Cotto's thinking to begin with. He has the skills to try and tactically outpoint and outhustle Martinez. Keeping himself from getting damaged in the process should be what Cotto concerns himself with.

Martinez has genuine punching power at the weight and Cotto is the "smaller" guy with a history of getting shaken up when he gets hit squarely with a heavy shot. He'll be on the razor's edge throughout.
