    People are overating Maidana

1st of all I love me some chino but people are going nuts with him after beating AB.
He defeated nothing but a brawler in Josesito And won a pretty closed one against a decent SK,schooled by Thurman afterwards...And now all of sudden he is the front runner to face FMJ?

Chino is an inside fighter with no footwork and weak defense.he has no business with floyd nor Thurman,García...Even Alexander schooled him.

Bring him some Mathysse.provo type guys And they ll give us a war, figuring out he GOT a chance against some A real boxers is delusional.

How did he win a close fight against Soto-Karass when he stopped him?

Maidana's recent win streak qualifies him for a Mayweather shot, regardless of people's opinions of his chances.

      nobody is overrating him
people are saying he has earned a fight for the top spot with Floyd
saying that and saying he'd win aren't the same thing
he'd get shutout, but he holds a belt and has clout in the division
the Broner euphoria is dying down now
people know it's a good win but doesn't make him a monster

I still think Chino is blooming late (not too late if we compare with Sergio Martínez), as I've posted some time ago and before the Broner fight. Because of his particular development path as a fighter, we have not seen the best Maidana yet, IMO.

I think he means the Soto-Karass-Maidana fight was a war as opposed to being one-sided.

Maidana's recent win streak qualifies him for a Mayweather shot, regardless of people's opinions of his chances.
There is no qualification, just convenience. Ortiz beats Berto and he gets Mayweather being a case in point.

The SK bout could have gone either way.
Maidana is a more educated boxer since Hiring García,but he still is what he is

When you look at who Floyd is willing to fight/cold war...Maidana makes a good enough opponent. Has a belt and quality wins at 147

What does it mean, exactly? It's just a cliche. In 2010 Maidana and Khan were both what they were and today they are what they are. But if they fight today, I think Maidana KOs him.

I think it's more a case of who's realistically going to be in the run. It's Maidana, Khan and then maybe someone like Porter or Lara.

Out of those 4, you would say Maidana has the biggest name/best recent results. I would still personally rather see Khan get the fight, but I concede that Maidana has had some recent success which could earn him a shot.
