Thurman is a 147 version of your HW fave.
      Victor Ortiz.

Would be a hell of a scrap.

Good fight, which I can see being made, but Ortiz needs to get past Collazo which is not a given.

Very promising. Looks like a skilled fighter with real power. As soon as he fights more meaningful opponents, we could start analyzing what this kid is really made of.

Chaves has been vastly overrated on here sine his KO loss to Thurman, you would think he had won the fight. Chaves has knocked out nobody at 147 for you to suggest he hits the hardest at 147.

Chaves hits hard. But to me he is no way the top puncher of the division.
He definetly has great potencial and needs to find a new trainer. I know you like Chino and you consider him the biggest puncher of the WW but you won't admit it right now because of this sort of campaign to get Khan-Floyd fight done.

to me is a 50/50 fight. Thurman should hit and walk the ring. Work to the body. Things he does really well. And Chino should look for a early KO since Thurman is a slow starter.

I think Chaves hits hardest, because like Thurman he's a big Welterweight who has fought at LMW and when they went toe to toe, it was Thurman who got his nose broken and was forced to move.

I definitely consider Maidana to up there too but Thurman has shown he can take big shots, adjust and stop his opponents.

That shot he took from Soto Karrass in the first round had him buzzed for a split second when you watched the replay. He took it and wasn't knocked out, but I have to wonder what if he gets caught like that from a harder puncher. His chin and one-punch and combination knock out power could more tban make up for the occasional defensive lapse though.
