Taylor-Wright implodes!

After a long, tense and sometimes bitter negotiation, promoters Gary Shaw and Lou DiBella finally came to terms on Monday night for middleweight champion Jermain Taylor's mandatory WBC title defense against Winky Wright -- only to have the whole thing unravel when Wright balked at the deal. According to the St. Petersburg Times, Wright has surprisingly fired Shaw and longtime Wright advisor Jim Wilkes has quit. It is also reported that Wright and manager Chris Lighty met with Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer and HBO unbeknownst to Shaw and Wilkes.

i cannot blame wright. look at how little shaw has done to promote such great talent. wright should be a bigger draw than he is since he got huge wins over mosley and trinidad. main events horribly mis managed one of the best fighters in boxing. good for wright.

You think maybe he would take this fight, one of the best opportunities of his career, and then fire Shaw. Unless he thinks this is his last big money opportunity and wants to make the most of it.

Winky Wright reminds me of Bernard Hopkins-both guys think they are worth a helluva lot more then they actually are.

If the Winkster wants to make the big big money and he wants to be that superstar draw somebody tell him that when he has a deadman in front of him like Felix was he needs to show some balls and finish him.

I dont know about the rest of you but why arent the god dman fans screaming for Wright v. McKart 4...I mean does this make perfect sense or what?
