Ali could even go to the HW division when wladimir retires and win some belts. He would definitly have a great shot at beating some of the smaller Heavyweights.

But I rather see Ali going down to light heavyweight and fight Stevenson or Kovalev. Maybe even Ward and Froch if they move up. Allot great fights could be made in the Light Heavyweight divison.

Hell if Cotto beats Martinez, He could fight Ali for a super middleweight title. That would break all PPV records. But I think Ali would be too weight drained as a super MW.

What do you guys think of those matchups if Ali was in his prime today?
might as well get ronnie coleman in or Jay cutler in since size is all that matters. Doesn't matter than Ali was an athletic phenom with agility and speed leagues above the K bros.

nah he doesn't have a point. Ali was 212 in an era where nobody lifted weights to put on mass. I'm not even sure how useful all this mass is, but Ali has the frame of the average HW today, the height and reach remains quite the same.

Before wlad started pumping massive iron he was 6'6 219 lbs. Thats a tall skinny dude.

        ...........6' 3 1/2" 212 to 225 lbs as he matured.

Anyone who thinks theres anyone since Ali's reign that could control the division with more authority is a fool!!

Ali is the first or second best heavy ever and thats an opinion held by boxing insiders. (people whoi have worked in the sport)

This type of thread could be eliminated if the forum wants to maintain some semblance of pride with integrity. The OP obviously is goating the public.

Why are you protecting Ali and having him go to light heavyweight? Ali was to big to go to 175. In his prime he weighed between 203 and 210 pounds and was at least 6 foot 3 inches tall. At 206 pounds Ali was rock hard without an ounce of extra fat. I know because I saw him train at the main street gym in Los Angeles and at times he was only a few feet away. It's been shown through out boxing history that a highly skilled fighter who weighs 200 lean pounds is big enough to defeat all comers including 6ft 7 inches and 250 lbs..giants. Dempsey, Louis, Jack Johnson and Ali proved this many times. There would be no need for the 24 year old Ali to wait for Wlad to retire. Ali beat Liston and Williams who weighed 220 pounds of muscle and were damn good. Ali would be way to good for today's cruiserweights. Ali would more than likely be the heavyweight champ today if you are talking about the 24 year old Ali

aaah yes, I see where you're coming from.

Then after earning a hard fought split decision win over cotto at smw ali would drop down to 54 pounds to take on Cash Flow for the Floyd Mayweather Kentucky Fried Chicken and Domestic Abuse belt before traveling to narnia to take on papa smurf in a rubber match.

He would then finish off his epic run of weight cutting form by rehydrating to fight The Big Show at a catch weight of 450 pounds finally solidfying himself as the 4th greatest heavyweight of all time behind only the klitschko bros and james toney.

              hope I'm doing it right....

For the unification fight against Wladimir, Ali would train like never before.

                He would wrestle an alligator.

He would tussle with a whale.

He would even handcuff lightning and throw thunder in jail.

Ali would be so fast, Wlad would lunge for him thinking he's trapping him in a clinch, but his hands would clap together as Ali materializes on the other side of the ring, doing the Ali shuffle with his tongue poking out.

Ali would pepper him with shots from every direction and proceed to knock him out with a perfectly placed phantom uppercut.

"The Ukrainian tree gets cut down in three."

Clay comes out to meet Klitschko and Klitschko starts to retreat,
if Klitschko goes back an inch farther he'll end up in a ringside seat.
Clay swings with his left, Clay swings with his right,
Look at young Cassius carry the fight
Klitschko keeps backing, but there's not enough room,
It's a matter of time till Clay lowers the boom.
Now Clay lands with a right, what a beautiful swing,
And the punch raises the stiff clean out of the ring.
Klitschko is still rising and the ref wears a frown,
For he can't start counting till Klitschko goes down.
Now Klitschko is disappearing from view, the crowd is going frantic,
But radar stations have picked him up, somewhere over the Atlantic.
Who would have thought when they came to the fight?
That they'd witness the launching of a human satellite.
Yes the crowd did not dream, when they put up the money,
That Clay would retire both Floyd and that big mummy.

                    - Added a few personal touches.
