Why do you think Ali is the most popular choice as the best HEAVYWEIGHT in history????? Here is a hint for you. It's not because he is a 50-50 fight with better than average but nothing special guys like Cunningham and Haye. It's because most experts and fans think that the Ali who refused to be drafted and was not allowed to fight for almost four years in the middle of his prime would be favored to defeat any heavyweight who ever lived including Lewis, Tyson and Wlad. He was 24 years old at the time of his forced retirement and he was the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. He was not the light heavyweight champ or the cruiserweight champ, he was the HEAVYWEIGHT champ. If that Ali was fighting today most fans and experts think he would be the heavyweight champion of the world and he would beat guys like Haye just like taking candy from a baby.

I realised what you did there right in the first sentence. Don't worry TS it was funny but subtly is completely lost on these guys.

Bad troll is bad.. But Wlad vs Ali would be an interesting match up, can see Wlad troubling Ali early but I think Ali would have Wlad befuddled by the middle rounds.

Couldn't see Ali having any trouble with Wlad whatsoever. Much more with Vitali.

Wlad is afraid to commit and his jab would hit air all night long. Ali would dance circles around him and either stop him late or get a clear ud.

Ali could even go to the HW division when wladimir retires and win some belts. He would definitly have a great shot at beating some of the smaller Heavyweights.

But I rather see Ali going down to light heavyweight and fight Stevenson or Kovalev. Maybe even Ward and Froch if they move up. Allot great fights could be made in the Light Heavyweight divison.

Hell if Cotto beats Martinez, He could fight Ali for a super middleweight title. That would break all PPV records. But I think Ali would be too weight drained as a super MW.

What do you guys think of those matchups if Ali was in his prime today?

I'd like to see him go to Yemen to fight Ali Raymi at a catchweight of 113.5 lbs in what would be the biggest fight in history.

Assuming he was undefeated of course.

Its a shame that most boxing experts dont consider Ali a real world champion because he never fought Fighters from the USSR. But like I said it wasnt his fault. He fought the best that was available to him.

Even if Soviet fighters were allowed to turn pro in Ali's era, Ali would still have been a top contendor.

Yeah forget about the fact that only 4 light-heavyweights & heavyweights from USSR won an Olympic medal (bronze & Silver) in Ali's whole era.

If only they had turned pro!!
