The UFC is scared to mess with their brand and update it. All of the crap aspects of the presentation is a UFC staple - boxing is guilty of this as well to a lesser degree.

It wasnt a freak injury. Saying that shows you dont know about kick boxing.

Weidman did the perfect check. That is what happens when you get checked on the knee throwing a full power shot.
lmao at your pic, and yourre right a friend I was watching with explained that to me. nice move by wideman but we still never got to see who was truly the better man both fights were close and got stopped early due to antics and a rare leg snap. had both fights continued who knows who would of won. but that's the fight game anything can happen and wiedeman can out on top both times regardless how it happend

They need to take a page out of boxings book if they want to grow.
Hell no they don't! That's the thing with competitive sports, best fight the best and it should be like that. Not sissify it like they're doing a lot in boxing. Development belongs in the gym and training, experience should come out of the fight itself. I love when a fighter/boxer earn their **** the hard way, shows the greatness within him.

People like me that don't even watch it had to look up that clip, so they'll be getting a lot more exposure and making some new fans no doubt.

Legitimized? man, do you know what youre saying? or you just saw that segment of leg snapping? Silva is on the way to be knocked out again if the fight continued watch it whole from the beginning.

Will anyone try to kick Weidman again, that is the question.

because a random snapping of a leg that is too gruesome to watch is gonna really bring in the viewers

I agree - boxing does it wrong. Bum tours that do nothing but possibly some name building at expense of experience and then just the opposite, destroys careers in hopes of classic trilogies with quick turnaround rematches after brutal fights. Boxing needs a balance of easy fights and tough fights as the head trauma can quickly ruin a career.

Fairweather UFC fans watch to see people get hurt. That's most of their audience. Business will get better for them off this if anything.
