Mayweather should retire. We all know Floyd does not want to take punishment nor does he like risks. Every opponent he faces from here on out will be sparring exhibitions. Floyd said boxing is a business which is true but this ultimately means he is not fighting any tough fights for the remainder of his career. Floyd is a great fighter there is no denying that but his reluctance to fight top opponents where he may be the underdog is disheartening. Floyd is a making a lot of money but I will not be buying his PPV bout if he fighting guys like Amir Khan and all he cares about is PPV numbers and not entertaining the fans. Honestly, I would much rather see Floyd hang it out so the next crop of stars can take over the sport. When has Floyd ever poll up a poll on his twitter and say hey fans who do you want to see me fight? He would never do because he might have to face a dangerous opponent.

Why retire if you can rob ****** fans and earn 70 mill for a rigged sparring session with a walking zombie?

Garcia matches up poorly against Mayweather. Take Matthysse out if you want, but the fact is there are plenty of risky fights out there for FMJ and no one should pretend otherwise.

Just don't watch his fights, why does he need to retire, nobody is forcing you to watch hm. He only fights twice a year ffs.

why even try to explain something to people that just don't get it????? All the guys Floyd have fought posed a threat of some kind until the bell rang. Then Floyd made all those guys look average by being Floyd. Now these same people who thought this guy or that guy would make a fight out of it do nothing but complain. I wish I could send them all some cheese to go with all that whining. Maybe if every fighter dedicated themselves to being as good as Floyd these worthless threads wouldn't get written up. I don't think he should retire, as a person I don't really like him but I enjoy watching him fight..Plus he is still on top of his game and he can make millions more, retirement doesn't make much sense for him

Well a lot of people considered Canelo a risky opponent (I didn't).

It's just a shame the that best welterweights he could face are either not big draws (or don't have a large ethnic following), or they're promoted by Top Rank.

He should wait until Thurman/Maidana/Khan/Porter all fight each other and a legit contender emerges.

Then people would say he let them all beat up on each other and now they're damaged past prime goods..

Remember with Floyd, "fans" either say a fighter is too green or past prime. It's whatever suits their agenda at that current time. Especially hindsight.

Go check out the polls on Guerrero and Canelo. Did people have them as the favorites? At 50/50? 60/40 Floyd? So stop it with "hindsight" because everyone except for the opponent's fans and a few Floyd haters that always picks against Floyd had Floyd as the clear favorite.

Even SHOWTIME was saying "People are saying that Canelo needed more experience".

If Floyd would have fought Sergio Martinez, Manny, ..... they would not have said that and you know it BUT the problem is that Floyd may eventually fight a "risky" fighter but when it's way TOO LATE!!! If it's too late, it's too late!

I think he should retire because after seeing how big Broner's fall impact was; imagine Floyd's. I don't wanna see Floyd go out like that to be honest.
