If Miguel Cotto fights Sergio Martinez what does that say about Pacquiao, Mayweather

Miguel Cotto, a guy that came from LOW weight classes just as they did, a guy that hasn't been claimed to be a Top P4P guy in years, never ranked number one in the sport, never media hyped...and a opponent of both guys.

And he fights Sergio Martinez?? The Lineal MW champ of the world, doesn't matter if he is on his way out.

    Pacquiao beat Antonio Margarito
    Floyd beat Canelo Alvarez

Can't compare that to a possible victory of the lineal MW Champ of the world.
It's easy to fight big SLOW opponents, but fighting big fast, skilled opponents...yea...WARCOTTO.

BTW, Martinez called out Floyd at 154 and Pac at 151.

Cotto really has nothing to lose at this point.

If he loses, he was supposed to. If he wins, it's amazing.

He can't lose in this situation.

Pac to small?? Dude fought Margarito who was BIGGER than Martinez, and only because he knows that Margarito had no skill+has no speed.

Floyd doesn't need Martinez?? Floyd needs all the legacy in the world, or needs to further improve it to back up his claims.

Pac and Floyd have won belts in more divisions even if Cotto were to miraculously fight Martinez.

Both manny and floyd can still make money fights at 147 whereas cotto said that he couldn't make that weight anymore. If he stays at 154, he'll have to face lara or canelo, which are high risk for him. A 160 fight with sergio is also high risk, but probably worth it since sergio could be damage and he want's a title at 160. pac and floyd have titles to spare. Cottos almost done, might as well go for broke at this point. I wish him luck.

Cotto was not as small as PAC and Floyd. How many diff weigh classes did he won a title in? And he's bigger than both of them

It says Cotto has more balls than Floyd will ever have.

This is a dumb thread. Cotto is physically nothing compared to Floyd & Pac. He didnt come from a low weight class like them. He started 2 full weight classes higher than Floyd and was super huge at that weight class. He was never a real 140 pounder. He started a million classes higher than Pac.

Floyd was just 150 on fight night against Canelo. Cotto at 140 routinely was 157 on fight night a million years ago. Its not even the same zip code. Cotto won fights at 140 strictly because he was too big for those guys to compete with. As for this fight, he has also lost to Floyd, Pac, and Trout recently.

He is just doing what anyone in that situation would do. You fight a guy like Sergio or retire. Its not that big of a deal. Its a good fight but it doesnt make him a warrior like some are trying to make it out to be
