True, but he also hasn't faced anyone near the skill level of the current version of Pacquiao since he fought Cotto himself in 2012. He's also lost a step or two himself. If you ask me, the result of the upcoming fight will be identical to what it would have been a few years ago. And in my opinion, the fight is 50-50 just as much today as it was 5-6 years ago. You might have given Pac the slight edge after the Cotto fight, as you mentioned above - but I truly believe the fight is a pick 'em at it's current state.

Leave it to boxing to make a fight 5 years too late.

Floyd is going to have to sit down on his punches and make Pac have a reason to be weary of rushing in. Popping him in the forward head with quick light shots like he did with Maidana will do absolutely nothing. Pac is in there to rip shots in an attempt to KTFO Floyd, Floyd is in there to control pace and pick shots at vulnerable openings. Pac is no Guerrero, old Mosley, or Canelo. He is not one to succumb to the pace of the fight slowing down because he gets timed with shots. If Floyd wants this win he is going to have to be moving non-stop and getting off first. Also body shots, he has to take advantage of laying into Pac's mid section.
        Excellent analysis.

I would just like to add that Floyd will be 38 years old when/if this fight goes down. I don't think it takes much to see that in recent fight (vs Cotto, Maidana 1 and others) Floyd has become an increasingly easy target to hit. Plus, I realize he has a very good defense, but there are a lot of miles on Floyd's body and though I think MM will win, I could see Pac out hustling him and his speed causing floyd problems.

Simply put, I'm not sure that 38yr old Floyd can handle Pac's speed (even tho it has decreased as well). Floyd's success in this fight would depend on his ability to maintain his accurate punching and slick defense--but like I said, his footwork has definitely slowed, and even if punches aren't landing clean, I invite you to go back and look at how easily Maidana pinned Floyd against the ropes and unleashed on him (especially in first fight).

Yeah but Floyd can change the fight with one punch. Pacquiao has been knocked out 3 times in his career. Floyd will find him with a counter and zap his lights.

Real boxing fans and analysis's know Floyd Mayweather would win, hence look at the results of the poll. Pact*rds will continue to be delusional and live in their fantasy world, dreaming that Pacman would beat Mayweather.

                    It ain't gon' happen!
