Yea, but we're discussing Algieri/Bradley/Marquez power versus Mayweather.

Pigeons reckons Floyd can do what Marquez did to Pacquiao, no chance imo, this version of Marquez hits significantly harder.

Look at him totally buckle Alvarado with a right hand, I haven't seen Floyd doing anything like that against a bigger opponent in forever.

Multiple boxers have said Floyd hits harder than people may think. I believe it was Mosley that said his punching power was similar to Canelo's. I could be wrong about that. But in any event, he clearly punches hard enough to give his opponents something serious to think about.

"Floyd has the power to hurt [Pacquiao]. Floyd has good underrated power. He likes to make people come to him, and when he hits them they feel it."

      -Mosley

I'm not trying to argue which boxers punch harder than others. Just passing along what some boxers have said.

“I have to say they [Pacquiao and Mayweather] are about the same [in punching power]."

            -De La Hoya

From the quotations I've read, all I can ascertain is that Mayweather's punching power is clearly underrated.

              It's common sense..........

Oscar is my dude but I don't agree with him, at all. It's common sense who punches harder. Floyd surprises opponent's with his reflexes and timing, more than pure speed. It's the element of surprise that adds a sting to a shot that you don't see coming from him. Floyd is a full weight class, bigger than Manny BUT Manny is a natural puncher. He is a freak of nature for his size. He punches with twice the force that Floyd does. Every opponent is left battered, bruised, or running by fights end. If you watch a fighter in surround sound, as I do, you can hear the thud on every shot from Manny. He punches extremely hard for his size. Floyd is bigger and Manny is stronger.

Call me a nut hugger but although that punch that Marquez landed on manny was the most eventful punch of his career(aand of mannys) it didn't seem like it even had all the force he could've possibly muster on it. I've seen floyd manage to get some really nice counters in that almost compete with it in terms of power. The only real difference I see is that floyd doesn't punch through his opponents. That is to say he doesn't extend all the way and plays it a bit safe. Manny didn't even wobble or get like, hurt. He just died point blank from that shot. To me it was more of the accuracy that put him to sleep. Floyd is the most accurate dude in the sport (maybe behind rigo).

I can totally see Floyd dropping pac. Hell if bradley had more power he would have been able to hurt manny in that rematch as he was swinging with full Force. Floyd by embarrassing landslide or late KO/tko.

So I'm believing u over a guy who has faced both?

I've read a lot that Floyd has good power.

Does it really matter if Pac has more power than Floyd? I'm sure he does but so have many of Floyd's last few opponents and yet who won those fights? Floyd is no way going to try to look for a KO in this fight or overpower him. I just don't see it.

Pretty sure Marquez has been taking roids since the fourth Pac fight. None of his wins count.
