Floyd didn't just wake up today n felt like this either. He's always felt like this. He never wanted to do this fight n chooses to fight other ppl. Boxing is a joke when the top dog acts the way he does.

If Manny weren't mentally handicapped and he clearly must be to still be under contract with Bob Arum, he wouldn't need hints from Mayweather to leave Arum he would have already done that. Manny's story isn't even a cautionary tale because boxing is rife with fighters that blew all of their riches which either forced them to fight long after they should have retired or they just lost it and faded into anonymity.
Manny could leave Arum when his contract is up but what would be the point? He's at the end of his career not the beginning. I'm afraid all he'd have waiting for him if he left his slave master would be a series of a$$ whippings for increasingly smaller purses. Manny had an opportunity to leave Arum, he chose not to, now he's broke and he'll be milked by being matched against TR's stable of fighters.
Boxers that are not prudent with their finances all follow an all too familiar path as they deteriorate. He should have left Arum while he had the chance.....Last edited by Slip Stream; 12-21-2013, 06:53 AM.Comment

I'm sure as a personal matter he could care a less if Manny blew all of his cash. However, looking at it as businessman Manny's situation is ripe for a negotiation if his side is smart enough to take advantage of that. Its my contention Manny is a complete ****** so that won't be happening anytime soon. If I were Manny I'd have Arum at gunpoint making him pick up the phone and call Floyd, but the fact this isn't happening to me strongly suggests Manny doesn't have the cognitive ability to grasp the seriousness of his situation.Comment

Well said.Ah man this is getting even more ridiclous now then it has ever been.
If mayweather and pacquiao dont fight by early 2015( maximum), the sport of boxing is going to suffer big time, and i mean big time. This is unheard of in any other sport.
Ultimately, sports at the end of the day is all about pitting the very best against the very best, you think barcelona wont play against real madrid?, or federer wont play nadal?, or froome wont take on contador? and i could go on and on.
However what makes this all the more worse is that, floyd and manny are 2 all time greats who ended up in the same era. Floyd vs manny is equivalent to other sports fans as a fantasy match up, federer vs borg, barcelona 2009 vs milan 1990, indurain vs armstrong ( still), lakers 2000 vs miami 2013.
But no, no, us boxing fans were lucky enough ( or not so lucky) that we got them both in the same era, at their peak of their powers. That is unheard of in other sports.
And yet here we are, with the clock ticking.Comment

He could probably get away with it in the Philippines, isn't that where Arum meets him to negotiate? Besides, I think it would be kinda cool to pick up a paper and see a picture of Pacquiao d****d in Arum's blood, heck it might erase the memory of that savage KO loss from his memory. There'd be a trial, but still....Comment
