The reason why Mayweather hates Arum (for Sugar Adam Ali, as the reply button isn't working)

Mayweather felt Arum was short-changing him and while might not have seemed that way at the time, history proves him right. $7 mil guarantee for Hatton and no DLH fight might have seemd fair but whe you compare to what he made as a free agent, well, people can draw their own conclusions.

ADP: goddamn son. According to your logic, Floyd should be beating the door down for a JMM rematch. There isn't an opponent out there that he KNOWS he'll easily beat and bring in more money than JMM. So if Floyd is out to sctictly take the easiest fights possible fore the most money, JMM is like a pot of ****in' gold.

At days end, believe what you wanna believe. If you believe Floyd is scared of Manny, run with it. If Floyd has fans that believe that Arum has thrown up smokescreens and really never wanted the fight. They should run with it. Personally, I don't think either side has ever genuinely wanted the fight because there's been no real effort on either side to make it happen. Its basically been one **** measuring contest after another. And it all boils down to GBP and TR aren't gonna do business. We accept if when it comes to any other fight not happening. But not Floyd-Pac. Its the damned-ist thing I've ever seen in my life.

Over the past two years, there's been a lot of uncertainty amongst fans and media alike regarding the events surrounding the negotiations for the mega-fight between pound-for-pound champions Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. In an effort to clear up the confusion, FightHype.com has put together an in-depth timeline detailing every major milestone that took place. From the moment that Floyd Mayweather came out of retirement to the minute that Manny Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum declared the fight to be off, all of the major events that dominated the headlines are included. Only the facts are included in this definitive timeline. Links to mulitple outside references have been included for each date, so fans can draw their own conclusions as to what went wrong at each step of the way.

When there were rumors about Floyd coming back from retirement. Arum and Roach didn't want to make the fight at 147 (Where he just fought Oscar De La Hoya) they said it should be at 140 were Manny would be at his best.
At this time there were rumors that Floyd wanted a 60/40 split. Mind you up to this point with all their common opponents Floyd sold more. For the De La Hoya fight he did 2.4 million while Manny did 1.25 million. For the Hatton fight Floyd sold $920,000 while Manny did $850,000. For the Marquez fight Floyd did 1.1 million while Manny did $400,000.
Before Floyd fought Marquez, even offered to pay Marquez $1 million to step to the side and take the winner after the fight was already signed.
After Floyd fights Marquez he sent Schaefer to speak with Ross Greenburg (President of HBO Sports) to negotiate the fight for him.
Then they couldn’t agree on the date of the fight because Pacquiao was running for Congress and needed more time to train for the fight properly.
Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports says that Mayweather agreed to all the terms in the contract (purse split, date, gloves, ring size, location, etc.)
Arum goes to the Philippines to get Manny to sign.
Roach tells him that it is too soon for Manny to fight (Broken eardrum during the Cotto fight)
The fight would have taken place on March 13 at 147-pounds, 8 oz. gloves, and 50/50 split.
Then Pacquiao ask for a $10 million per pound weight penalty (Mayweather agrees)
The next problem was the venue Arum wanted to have the fight at Cowboys Stadium.
Floyd ask for random drug testing and Roach says that they would accept the test

They agree to have the fight at the MGM Grand and the fight is about to be announced.
Pacquiao does not want to be tested only wants to have blood drawn before the first press conference and after the fight. Arum calls the fight off because Mayweather insist on “random” testing with no cutoff date.
Arum then issues a deadline for the fight, and then offers 3 nonrandom tests for the fight, but this would go against the rules for USADA. Pacquiao then decides to sue Mayeweather.
Mayweather then agrees to a cutoff date as long as there is still random testing (even allowing the Nevada commission to do the testing). Arum then takes the testing off the table completely.
Manny says that he believes it will weaken him before the fight, but there is video of him taking a blood test before the Hatton fight.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission orders both guys to take random testing.
Both sides decide to get a mediator to iron out their issues, and Pacquiao ask for a 24 day cut off for the testing. Mayweather offers them a 14 day cut off for testing which was declined by Pacquiao himself (Michael Koncz even confirmed this). Pacquiao then goes on to fight Clottey (660,000 PPV), and Floyd fights Mosely (1.4 million PPV).
Mayweather at this point right after the Mosley fight during the interview declares random blood and urine for all future opponents with no cutoff dates.

Over the past two years, there's been a lot of uncertainty amongst fans and media alike regarding the events surrounding the negotiations for the mega-fight between pound-for-pound champions Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. At this point Arum wants the negotiations to be quiet, and Koncz ask for a gag order.
Pacquiao then agrees to a 14 day cutoff (for real this time)
Mayweather is no longer willing to agree to a 50/50 split due to their recent PPV buys.
Arum insist that they are negotiating the fight with Mayweathers team (even though Golden Boy, Schaefer (even offers to take a lie detector test lol), and Elerbe deny that it is even taking place), and a rumor comes out that Margarito has already been promised the fight.
Knocz tries to get the Cotto rematch but he would not agree to a catch weight again.
Arum gives a deadline (the countdown clock), but still want the 14 day cut off

Look what Ariza a member of Manny’s team for years had to say (Funny how he go fired and now all this stuff about the I.R.S. is coming out)

Say it like it is: Alex Ariza has recently answered some fan questions via Twitter, and his responses were exceedingly shocking...

One person had asked whether Pacquiao would ever fight Berto, Martinez or Canelo and Ariza’s reply was: “Manny can’t fight anyone not promoted by Bob.”
“Do you think Manny Pacquiao deserves 50/50 from the PPV record maker Floyd Mayweather?” was yet another question to Pacquiao strength trainer Alex Ariza, to which he responded with: “Not if Floyd's #’s are higher.”

Alex Ariza, the strength and conditioning coach of WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, blames Top Rank’s CEO Bob Arum, who promotes Pacquiao, and Michael Koncz, the agent of Pacquiao, as standing in way of a possible super-fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr., already scheduled to return on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. During an explosive interview with Fighthype.com, Ariza erupted when approached about the subject of Koncz and Arum, claiming the two of them are going to do everything possible to prevent the mega-match from taking place. Ariza made several allegations against Arum and Koncz, including one claim that Koncz is preventing any outside parties from reviewing Pacquiao’s financial records.
Ariza said – “I know that Michael Koncz says that he’s having a meeting with Bob to negotiate the Mayweather fight. They’re having a meeting on how to make sure that this fight doesn’t happen. That’s what their meeting is about. Michael Koncz is Bob Arum’s b*tch boy. He’s not fooling anybody. Don’t you think it was odd that there was such a push to get this accounting company [VisionQwest] out? Why is that?”
“Why is it that anytime somebody wants to dig around and wants to sit there and look and see what’s going on with Manny, making sure that the best interest is at hand, why is it that there’s a full court press to get those people out of there? Why is that? That’s what’s going on. I mean, what is it? If you got nothing to hide, why is it such a push to get these people away? Why is Michael Koncz always trying to f**king make sure everything goes through him? If there’s any problems with these accounting companies, why is it that he’s always trying to stop that? Maybe the findings are going to come out. Checks being written to Michael Koncz from Top Rank, what’s that all about? That sounds like the biggest conflict of interest that I’ve ever seen. I thought Michael Koncz was working for Manny in Manny’s best interest. Why is he getting checks from f**king Top Rank”

Do you guys mention after every fight when they ask Manny who he wants next ("It is up to the Promoter")

Or Floyd calling Manny himself (The only time the 2 fighters had the chance to iron out the framework for a contract) to fight on May 5 before he went to jail
        http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id...manny-pacquiao
"I also let him know we both can make a lot of money. He ask about a 50/50 split and I told him no that can't happen, but what can happen is you can make more money fighting me then you have made in your career. I also let him know I'm in control on my side but he needs to get on the same page with his promoter so we can make this fight happen."
"I told him to tell his promoter that he only wants to fight Mayweather and that this fight will be the biggest fight in history. His manger came to my boxing gym a few months ago and we spoke about getting the defamation of character lawsuit dropped against me and about both fighters taking the random blood and urine test. I spoke to his manager again last night about the same thing. The call last night lasted 15 or 20 minutes. I mainly spoke to his manager he got on and off the phone real quick."

Or the stadium Arum wanted to build

Or Manny's cut that took 6 months to heal (But they were willing to fight in May when they thought Floyd would be in jail)

Floyd made a lot of concessions early on, and now he's in the drivers seat. You can't blame him if Arum doesn't want to make the fight.

As a fan of both fighters I can look at this with out emotion and tell you that it is the PAC fans who seem to have a skewed view of this back and forth between PAC and May. Sorry its so long but trust its worth the read. Let me explain.

1st negotiations broke down over drug testing, in which PAC refused olympic style drug testing due to a fear of needles. It was also a negotiation where PAC tried to get Floyd down to a catch weight, which Floyd refused. Floyd never accused PAC directly of using, it was his father and uncle who said PAC was on steroids. After negotiations broke down Arum and PAC began a smear campaign against Floyd that put more strain on an already paper thin relationship. PAC also began trying to sue Floyd for accusations that were never heard coming directly from Floyd. They go their separate ways Floyd continues to use Olympic style drug testing with every opponent since.

2nd negotiations are near complete but drug testing arises again, Olympic style is agreed to but PAC will not agree on the end date. This is where PAC fans think they have one over Floyd fans. Till this day PAC has refused to do Olympic style drug testing up to the day of the fight, saying his blood being drawn the day of the fight would weaken him as if Floyd would not be drawing blood as well. If blood is not drawn at a random time the day of the fight then it is not Olympic style drug testing. Arum continues his smear campaign also lying about the details of the negotiations, and PAC continues his lawsuit.

3rd times not a charm. Floyd advises his team to make the fight with PAC happen. Floyd even goes as far as to set his return date as the same day Arum set pac's return date. Again pac's return date was already determined. After Floyd announces his intentions, Arum immediately changes pac's return date to a later date citing pac needed a ridiculous amount of time for his cut to heal. He also said he needed to build an outdoor venue, not enough time for promotion and so on. Fight not made Arum continues smear campaign PAC continues lawsuit.

4th is the most interesting. PAC drops the lawsuit off of boxing writers criticizing him for saying he wants to fight Floyd while attempting to sue him at the same time. Konks begins spreading stories about how he's negotiating with Floyd, while Floyd says he has no idea who Konks is. However PAC gives an interview where he states un coerced that he wanted to fight Floyd so bad he would take less money (this is a fact). So Floyd makes a move that nobody saw coming and called Konks to speak to PAC directly. Floyd makes known he does not want to work with arum. Floyd tells PAC I will give you a $40 mil guarantee to fight me (the most money PAC has ever been offered) and you can deal with arum on your end. PAC asked about ppv Floyd told him they would negotiate ppv on the back end but first he needed to accept the $40 mil to show he's serious. PAC said no I want 50/50 split and gave the phone back to Konks.

Now we are here, Floyd was cheated by Arum, he was smeared by Arum after he endured a person who he did not want to work with three times. PAC attempted to sue him. When I read this I don't see a man who's afraid, or ducking, I see a man who's tired of the BS of attempting to deal with Arum. I agree it's a bit childish but "I'm afraid of needles" has to be the biggest duck of a drug test in the history of the sport, and it is no wonder so many people think PAC was actually on steroids.

It's also interesting that ever since PAC said he was willing to take the test (with a cut off date) he has not looked as spectacular, and his leg cramps started to come back. The timing may be a coincidence but it sure is su****ious.
