Floyd: once again if my team cherry picks...

Dont agree with that at all. I care about the sport more than I do anyone's 'brand' and nice as it is that the sport gets more mainstream exposure, it will lose its appeal and its credibility if the public keep getting ripped off with substandard fights and cherrypicked mismatches.Actually, people on here seem to care about whose brand makes the most ppvs...in fact they taunt if one fighters ppv sells less than desired and heaps praise if it has exceeded expectation-as boxing fans we should rejoice when fighters do big numbers because it shows that our sport is legitimized back to mainstream appeal.Comment

To be honest thats a tuneup fight after a vicious knock out, but still a contender to pac coz that time alot of questions to be answered if pac's jaw is still intact etc etc While on the other hand after a canelo win and fighting an Amir khan. Thats a different story. Was Rios a cherry pick????? Who do you desire Pac to fight to increase his legacy if a Mayweather fight cannot be made?
I have just come to accept that as boxing is a business, then the best vrs the best scenario is only going to happen while 2 fighters are on their way up, but not at the pinnacle making the most money.
That i dont have to explain. Thats cherry picking at its finest! I meant legendary cherry picking hehehe!Last edited by Spoon23; 12-18-2013, 05:54 AM.Comment

As a fan, I agree with you, but the reality is that if this sport doesn't make money or high ppvs, then we no longer have a sport. That fact alone proves that it is mainly a business.Dont agree with that at all. I care about the sport more than I do anyone's 'brand' and nice as it is that the sport gets more mainstream exposure, it will lose its appeal and its credibility if the public keep getting ripped off with substandard fights and cherrypicked mismatches.
Be that as it may, Floyd will have a great legacy. He has dominated several weight classes and beat some serious opposition while remaining undefeated. He is only 1 of 2 people to capture 4 lineal titles. He holds 2 of them simulataneously and has the best ratio of hit and not get hit percentage. He is one of the best of our era whether you acknowledge that or not.
History isn't going to remember little details as much as the great ones. You would be a biased fool to think history won't remember Floyd as a fighter who has done more than most in boxing have done.Comment

Sorry dude, but most people would rank Canelo over Rios....even Stevie Wonder can see that.To be honest thats a tuneup fight after a vicious knock out, but still a contender to pac coz that time alot of questions to be answered if pac's jaw is still intact etc etc While on the other hand after a canelo win and fighting an Amir khan. Thats a different story.

In no way shape or form was Rios a legitimate contender in a weight he has never fought in...hell, he was 1-1 at JWW. That fight was so predictable. For you to say Pac gets a pass for it and claiming it as a tune up is a straight lie as Pac himself had said Rios isn't a tune up, so it is odd that you say otherwise.
The Canelo fight was viewed as a fight that "if anyone has a chance to take Floyd's streak-it is Canelo". That was a great fight to be made, no doubt about it.
On one hand you give Manny a pass for getting himself into a situation where he has to fight subpar opposition to look good against, while Floyd has kept his winning streak and "cherry-picks" ( in your opinion) one of the highest ranked OUTSIDE of his natural weight class....is something funny here or what?
Amir Khan on the other hand is a joke-pure bullspit and time filler on paper, but if it happens then I won't be surprised to see Khan's backpeddling and flurrys give Mayweather a few problems early on....still doesn't mean I'm buying it, but just like Pac's fight with Rios-I will watch it on a stream.Last edited by damned1974; 12-18-2013, 06:12 AM.Comment

I'll keep simple for you Damned1974, here's an analogy that even a grade 1 student will comprehend. Its the NBA finals or the superbowl what does floyd do? He rather duck the finals or the superbowl and fight the first round team instead. Thats whats up.
Thats not how sports are played. He is ruining the sport by doing that. Its always about facing challenges, for the glory and legacy.Last edited by Spoon23; 12-18-2013, 06:21 AM.Comment

Floydiots after watching this video and the other videos out there.
Floydiots: "This video was just made up by Floyd haters. None of these came from his mouth!"Comment

OK, it's getting tough to point out logic to you, so soak in the previous comment, have a cup of coffee and wake up to yourself.
Keep your expectations realistic on the sport and you will be less disturbed with it.
If you are going to moan about who Floyd fights, don't give others passes. In your analogy of Floyd fighting the first round team, I think at this stage that Manny hasn't even fought up to that par with that opposition in a loooooooonnnnng time and been successful.Last edited by damned1974; 12-18-2013, 06:21 AM.Comment
