    • Wow, Maidana only a vote out of first place. That's a bit much, NSB.

Because Rigo had 2 wins against :

            1. a 2012-FOTY champion who hadn't lose a match for 12 years, top P4P, came to the ring as bloated 140-150 pounder with 2 guns in his hands, is still able to K.O champions 2 weight classes above his ! in a dominant fashion in his 12th professional fight !

            2. a former champion, 12 rounds won, on all score cards, enough said !

            _______________

J.Gonzalez biggest win is against a good fighter of Abner Mares who is a hyped-up Mexican champion, and it ended with a lucky punch in the 1st round !

            ______________

D.Garcia doesn't deserve to be in this list, his two wins are literally irrelevant ! the first was against washed-up never-been-good average famous boxer with a fan base , AKA Zab Judah !

the second against against the No.2 P4P hype-job in the world of professional boxing, AKA Matthysse !

I expect that 2014 will be the end of the lucky bubble called D.Garcia ! he isn't that good, he has never been good, so don't call his next defeat an upset, because it was frustrating to read " Maidana upsetting Broner "

Judah and Agbeko are comparable wins, I think. Zab is past it, and Joseph was inactive and didn't come to fight. Matthysse was hyped, I agree, but he's still a solid, dangerous fighter. That was a nice win for Garcia. I don't see how anyone can knock it. Now, was it a better win than beating a consensus top-five P4P fighter in Donaire? I don't' think so. Not only that, but Danny and Lucas fought a close fight. "El Chacal" dominated Nonito. I voted for Rigo. However, I think Danny certainly deserves consideration.

Maidana's win over Broner, while glorious, isn't enough to win him FOTY. Broner is a good fighter, but he was hyped and probably too small to fight the best at 147. He was beating up on smaller men at 130 and 135. Now Broner's been exposed, because, while Marcos is good, he's limited.

Chino gave us 18 rounds of entertainment. He has a FOTY candidate with Josesito and then gives Broner a beat-down. Had he fought one more time this year, I probably would've picked him too lol

I choose Garcia but I should have picked Rigondeaux. Rigondeaux erased Donaire who was in the top 5 of the p4p list.

Can't argue with the bold. lol But does entertainment equal FOTY? I think it's a factor, but I consider quality of opposition more important.

Josesito is an overachiever who's lost three out of his last five fights. Granted, two of those losses came against Maidana himself and Canelo Alvarez (whom he had no business fighting), but he could easily have lost to Ortiz, if not for the broken jaw. In other words, the kid's a gamer, but he's not all that.

Broner, as I've already stated, is too small to beat 147's best. And although he's good, he's not that good.

You're probably right with your closing statement. If Chino had fought a third time this year against a good fighter, he might've deserved FOTY based, in part, on activity.
