No disrespect to Frank. But I don't regularly read his posts. Not because he's not a good poster. But because I haven't had a lotta interaction with him.

That said, is it not possible to be a fan of a fighter, but be realistic about his standing in the sport? I'm a fan of AB and still am. I like fighters who use his style and I think he's funny as hell. But I've also been critical of his inflated status in the sport. I've been saying that him being on various P4P lists was a joke. I've been saying he needed to be building his resume at 35 instead of chasing and manufacturing events at 47. I've also been saying he needs to concentrate on being a fighter instead of a celebrity.

So all in all, being a fan of a fighter doesn't automatically make you a fanboy. Delusion is what makes you a fanboy. And even before last night. I've seen several posters on here that like AB, but don't qualify as fanboys.

    • Congratulations to Marcos Maidana on his victory and spirited effort against Adrien Broner. He came out with a lot of intensity and ferocity against the Problem Broner; Who didn't know what had hit him. So I tip my hat to EL Chino because it appeared he wanted to win the fight a lot more than Broner did.

On the other hand, Broner seemed overconfident and appeared to underestimate the punching power of Marcos Maidana. Adrien thought that he could walk right through Maidana but he was wrong. Marcos was a lot stronger than he had originally thought. Most of all I believe that the "Problem's" lack of foot movement hurt him in this match up because El Chino couldn't miss him with the amount of punches he was throwing. They were easily finding their mark against him as (I've never seen Broner get hit so much in his career).

Moreover, Adrien fought the wrong fight strategically against Maidana. For throughout much of the night, Broner was attempting to fight flat-footed against a naturally larger and stronger puncher/slugger in Marcos Maidana but Adrien lacked the size and power in order to do as he was able to when he was competing in the lower weight classes. He would have done a whole lot better, if he would have utilized his speed and overall boxing ability

However with that being said, I do believe he deserves an immediate rematch with El Chino. The reason being is because he did display a heart of a champion. When faced with adversity, he showed a tremendous amount of character and mental toughness; Especially after climbing off the canvas twice and being badly hurt by El Chino on several occasions. Most fighters would have easily wilted or quit under those kind of perilous situations.

Excellent post. Easily the best so far. That said, I don't think AB fairs much better in a rematch. Because his lack of size and lack of power is why he lost. Its easy to say he should moved more. But that's not who he is as a fighter. He's a stalker. And he's a good inside fighter. That's who he is. Of course, he would be better prepared for what's coming in a rematch. But ultimately. He isn't skilled enough to simply outbox Chino for 12rds. So eventually, a FIGHT is gonna break out. And he's not gonna win a FIGHT against Chino.

I suggest you read some of little fwankies posts, that way you will know what a fanboy looks like, and believe me, he is regarded as one of, if not the biggest bumsniff on this forum.

                • I'm glad Broner got owned last night. So much **** talking, dude thinking he's Mayweather, lol. Then acting like a fool during the fight (why hump Maidana)?

Wanna see him take another loss so he can be furthered humbled before he starts winning again.

                  • An immediate rematch isn't a good idea. He took 2 years off of his career tonight.

Maybe so. But he's far from the only "bumsniff" on here. The only difference is he, along with myself, like fighters that. The majority hate.

BTW, its very possible to be a "bumsniff" of a fighter you dislike as well. If the majority of one's posts are about a guy you hate, you're **** riding. As Buddy Rogers said. "Whether they pay to see you win or lose, its still 5 bucks in the seat."
