I am sorry, but Johnny is taking this again. One big punch is going to land on Mares and the nightmares will come back.

Abner is exciting. Love watching him fight. Would like to see him win so we can see more big matchups between him and the other top names. No disrespect to Johnny

Abner Mares is one of those fighters that make you proud of our sport for the great class he always shows outside the ring and the true warrior spirit which he always fights with inside the ring. He's also a fighter who's proven his great courage time and time again by always fighting the best possible opponents and never ducking anyone that's been put in front of him. On February 15th Abner Mares is going to prove once again that the size of his heart, the amount of courage in his soul, and the set of skills in his arsenal are big enough to overcome any obstacle set in front of him.

            Too Small

Mares is just too small. I was surprised when he TKO Ponce.

That's very disrespectful to Abner Mares, who was a genuine p4p fighter on one of the best runs in the sport, probably the best run, before the Gonzalez loss. Lopez was never that good.

Mares has the skills to make a comeback from this loss. But it will be interesting to see if mentally he can put himself back together.

I hope Mares can get the W this time and get back on track. It's going to be the toughest test of his career. Hopefully, this time he will hold if he gets buzzed. He'll need to box and move this fight. I know he's going to try and brawl occasionally but he'll need to be very careful. It will serve Mares well if he goes to the body early and often.
