That's very disrespectful to Abner Mares, who was a genuine p4p fighter on one of the best runs in the sport, probably the best run, before the Gonzalez loss. Lopez was never that good.

Time will tell, I think Johnny is going to ko him again and then.....well then we will have two of those.

I wouldn't say his chin is subpar at all but he has risen in weight wayyyy too fast and ran into a big heavy hitter. Mares has been fighting tough competition consistently and coming out on top. His chin has definitely been tested prior to the fight with Gonzales. He got caught with the perfect shot though. He took bombs from Ponce the fight before and kept walking through them.

I will be rooting for him as well.. But i think he loses again...

On the bright side, if that happens we could see mares go back down and that would set up a clash with santa cruz, which would be a great fight IMO

they paid him enough. he was just talking crap because he won the fight. but he do does deserve more now tha he's the champ.

Good point about the Santa Cruz fight. If Mares does lose again, hopefully jhonny doesn't ruin his chin.
