The commission is using modern testing equipments now and they've been catching cheats.

The Commissions do not do strict drug testing, and it's not random. NSAC has a new strict random drug testing program though, but they have only used it for Bradley vs. Marquez. And that was because Bob Arum basically forced them to create the program.

Rios was caught through VADA's testing, not a Commission's test.

With something like that which not exactly a cutting edge the amounts matter. Did he just have a smidgen, did he have a normal dose or did he have enough in his system to pump up a small horse.

Once again PED aren't a magic wand, to be effective they need to be used with very hard work to push your body beyond it's limits, using it as a shortcut or even just using it to get a bump for a fight (which is probably the case here) is not really going to do much for you. Maybe in a fight where guys are almost even it could maybe then it could give a slight edge but it would not change a fight where the levels are clearly different.


I doubt much happens to Rios though other than future scrutiny considering the fight was in China and he has his dough. His career is pretty much on the rocks anyway.

Rios, who passed four of the VADA-administered tests leading up to his match against Pacquiao, failed the urine test afterward. He tested positive for the banned substance methylexanamine, a stimulant that is commonly known as dimenthylamylamine or DMAA and has been used in dietary supplements.
