It depends on how much time is wasted on these ****ty fights he's been getting so many of. He's beaten two guys I rate as world class operators and neither has ever been a champion. I'm not saying it's his fault. I think he fights who's in front of him and some guys did legit duck him up to this point but like look at his next fight. Even Mora would've been way better than this and that wouldn't have been very good.

He should have turned pro earlier but he is still by far the best middleweight in the world and the other top middleweights are afraid to fight him. He has been rated #1 for over a year and Martinez still won't fight him. If he had been the #1 middleweight for 3 years would Martinez and the other top 3 or now.4 other middleweights have fought him? I don't know.

Rubio is Martinez' mandatory.. sergio was fighting for his title vs Chavez last year (Chavez has arguably a better resume than GGG, but no one sits here and talks nonsense), had an injury and fought a good fighter in Murray in Argentina and hasnt been seen since. Unless youre insinuating the lineal champ fighting much bigger men is somehow...purposely injured to duck GGG? Really? >__>... The guy fighting better fighters is ducking?

Martinez has consistantly fought who theyve asked/we've asked of him. P Will twice, Pavlik, some wondered how he woulda done at 54 vs Dzinz and bam that was made (gave up his title too), people wanted Macklin, Chavez Jr, and now hes injured. Badly.

You cant just go out and knock out ishida and some randoms and suddenly be ducked by the elite in your class. Aside from Sturm and if I recall, Barker's camp no one has ducked him. He was supposed to fight Pirog but Pirog also got hurt. It's just tough luck and now promotional issues make a few matchups much harder to make. Know what everyone does when they cant land a fight at a weight class? Move up. Look at the p4p list, tell me who hasnt done it as needed? Floyd has done it, Ward hasnt had to (yet) as hes gotten a hold of who mattered, Martinez did it, Bradley, JMM, Pac, Etc. All these guys have moved up to face p4p fighters or worthy champions. Instead of complaining he cant find a fight, they could easily move up (hes got good size on him, lets not act like hes Martinez or Rigo sized) fight, come back down while still holding on to the title. Sakio bika would fight for peanuts. Please, dont tell me Ishida was the final option or Stevens.

People should stop talking about people ducking him and just let him do his thing. Look at Sergio.. Dude had to wait over a year to fight for HIS OWN title lol. GGG aint the first one to have politics not on his side (yet) and he wont be the last. I love GGG but its becoming cringeworthy the excuses people make.

hard to realize your potential when sturm, murray, serg, etc have all turned down the fight...

GGG has been avoided like the plague by the other top MWs

31 is not especially old in todays sporting climate plus he has only been a pro for 7 and a half years. Golovkin hasn't taken much punishment in his pro career and has routinely knocked his opponents out fairly early. Golovkin is at his peak. Plus his team are going as fast as possible to make him a star and big money. In only about a year he has went from being a nobody to casual american HBO boxing viewers to having some of the best ratings on HBO fighting at best moderately well known contenders. The next year or two should be very interesting as he generates more and more money to lure opponents into the ring with him.
