He's facing bums and should move up. If GGG were Broner everybody would be crying that he's untested in a weak division. And he needs to prove himself blah blah blah.

I agree and disagree with you on this one! Golovkin's got 160 locked down for sure and it's historically been one of the premier divisions.

Although I feel he doesn't really belong at 168 as he's not exactly a big MW as is, if he were to move up say, after Ward moves to 175 I don't feel there's anyone up and coming that could be a legit threat to him at SMW.

The ward fight is still one I'd love to see and I'm a fan both guys, but I'd heavily favour SOG beating GGG.. (That being said, I'm trying to recall if Andre ever took sustained body punches and how he'd deal with that?)

How is 160 a weak division!? It's kind of an ignorant remark considering you've got Sergio, GGG, Felix Sturm and Quillin (Pirog if he ever reappears) along with up and comers like Korobov, Billy Joe Saunders, Murata, Danny Jacobs and Maybe J'Leon Love if gets his **** together!

That's a much deeper division than SMW the only test at 168 is Ward! And you can't say that he's "untested" anymore after fighting guys like Macklin, Stevens and Rosado! They're not stellar names but all those guys would prove a solid test to any champion in the division!

Btw if GGG were Broner I'm sure none of would be thinking "The Problem" was a spoiled childish little ******!!

He's fine as long as he starts fighting ppl who matter. Route now...his options are slim. I wanna see him take a big risk

Slightly, but I wouldn't say it's too late. He could feasibly fight Martinez next year and that's when things get interesting. After beating Sergio, he'll be one of the premier fighters on HBO and maybe it could lead to fights like Ward/Froch in 2015.

Macklin was a contender and he beat him.

There are some big physical guys at 168 who are not easy to put away. Sakio Bika, Marco Periban, Mikkel Kessler, Edwin Rodriguez...after watching the Stevens fight and seeing some holes in his defense imo Golovkin has a tough night with all of those SMW fighters, not necessarily because they're better, but bigger.

I don't think the "GGG will fight anyone from 154-168 offer" stands anymore, he's become an HBO attraction at 160 and that's where he'll stay imo.

Many years of his were wasted by Sturm ducking him and Universum then fcuking him over to protect Sturm

And now its being somewhat wasted again with all this ducking

No. He is actually realizing his potential.

Its not all GGG's fault. HBO is making him one of the faces of their network. They have already said he is the best MW. As such, he will be put in fights to look good and succeed until he is willing to fight Ward.

I expect him to fight Froch at some point in 2014 which will showcase his vast skill set.
