    Julio Cesar Chavez

I don't know anything about him. People tell me that he is the best Mexican fighter of all time, but they don't tell me why. Can somebody tell me what makes him so great?

Man, just go to boxrec and if you know anything about boxing his greatness will be evident to you.

You were right. He has a pretty impressive resume. But what happened against Frankie Randall? Was he out of shape or was it just his style? I think I need to buy some tapes of him and see.

Well, look at how many fights he had fought at that point. He was getting old. My memory may be bad, but I think that was his first time on the mat ever in that Randall fight. Someone else may remember more details, but yeah, he was a worn fighter at that point.

I think that a prime JCC could've beaten DLH. He took a lot of shots in that fight and his lip looked like it was gonna fall off. He was tough even then. If he were younger, he would've gotten to Oscar eventually. Especially if they could fight at say 140 instead of 147.

I have to disagree. I think that at 140, DLH was too fast and strong for any version of Chávez. Fighters with speed(Taylor, Randall, DLH) always gave Chávez trouble.

They gave him trouble, but when Chavez was a young man, he didn't lose .

Chávez was in his prime when he faced Taylor, and everyone knows that Meldrick was schooling him. I forgot Whitaker, who also schooled him in 1993.

I like Chávez, but slick boxers were his downfall.
