Mayweather was a very exciting offensive slick boxer pre-oscar...It didn't sell him tickets. He didn't get huge until Oscar BUT...he did 300-350k ppvs which compared to everyone else was still near the top...Rigo probably wouldn't break 30-35k ppvs.... so no they're not even in the remotely same league.
Mayweather was like Rigondeaux for a long time

but folks were talking about Floyd all the way back in the 90's, I remember in 1999 he was featured in a segment on Sky boxing, and the commentators were saying this s the kid to watch.
he was training his ass off if I recall and he was ****y, but no money talk, more so about moving up a weight class and taking over.
Pretty boy before Money MayComment

lol that klits sig gif you have is pretty ridiculous lolrite keep thinking this bull****!!! do you know anything about boxing???
Floyd was an American Olympian ...that was Robbed at the games...
His father and Uncle were good fighters...and his Uncle was also a Former World Champion....
Dude was a Child Prodigy!!!
The Mayweather last name with Boxing is Like "Manning" in Football..
The father wasn't a Hall of Famer but He groomed his Son's and they went on to become Great players!!!
You have No Idea what ur talking about Homie!!!!!
young ppl took to floyd since day one...I'm sure if u do a Breakdown of his Fanbase 90% of them are under 40...
Floyd also had 3 PPV's before Oscar....
that did Decent Carlos, Zab, and Gatti...
Go try to put Rigo on PPV and see if he can sell 5,000

The difference is Floyd opened up more offensively to appease his critics. There are fights like Corley and N'dou where he was the aggressor and went for the knockout and threw in combination. When his opponent was overmatched he took them out like with Gatti and Mitchell. Now there were some less exciting fights like the Sosa fight but Floyd has had many exciting fights. Rigo is less likely to take chances and comfortable cruising to a decision.
Also, Floyd headlined a PPV before the Oscar fight and did good attendance numbers for his fights. The money persona (epic 24/7) combined with the Oscar fight did make him a superstar though.Comment

would be hilarious to see Rigo talk trash like Floyd, but even funnier because it won't be Rigo doing the English translation lol. That would be something new and unique, where Rigo has a translator doing the trashtalking coz he can't speak English.Comment

It won't work well. Most casuals in America don't give a **** if it's not in english at least in most parts of the country. Being from the midwest they'll just turn it off and watch something else. Rigo will never be a star unless he takes a risk or two which is very unlikely to ever happen.Comment

Mayweather was never like Rigondeaux. He was exciting before making it big, at least most the time. He didn't fight anything like Rigondeaux either.Comment
