Comments Thread For: Provodnikov Chases Marquez, Says It’s a 50/50 Fight

Fresh off his memorial battle and a nasty win over Mile High Mike Alvarado, the Siberian Rocky Ruslan Provodnikov (23-2, 16 KOs), a newly crowned WBO light welterweight champion, is looking for bigger options. One man, who is particularly on the radar is a legendary four-division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (55-7-1, 40 KOs), who himself wants a rematch to be activated against WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley, one who has defeated Provodnikov in one of this year’s brightest collisions.

if no Bradley this is the only fight for marquez, but fans need to see that marquez is old already,he's slower going against a 20 something year old, strong guy,if marquez were 30 it would be an easy win for juan, not anymore,it seems provodnikov is so eager to prove himself,to make a name for himself and although marquez is older he's still marquez and that is enough motivation for someone like provodnikov, wouldn't surprise me if he ko's marquez and marquez complains again...

Hey Ruslan, you have a major PPV fight laying at your feet. His name is Manny Pacquiao. Just because you're ****** and gullible enough to think that Roach and Pac are your friends. And that's a reason not to do the fight is your problem. JMM ain't thinking about you, nor should he be. Keep running along being Freddie and Pac's b!tch. And you'll have a few more fights as a quasi TR fighter that Arum uses to manufacture can't miss action fights with the Alvarado and Rios types. Soon enough the wars will take their toll. Then its back to ESPN getting outclassed by the Maurico Herrera types.

Or perhaps it's because Pacquaio has manhandled him in the past...just a thought here...

Would love to see it, but Marquez isn't going there.

True. It seems odd that a fighter would choose to call out a guy coming off a loss for a BAD headliner where he will make 500k rather than the chance to be the b side on a ppv against the #2 ppv draw for 4-6 times as much.
