rigondeaux's talent and ability doesn't match his billing, and your billing is what dictates what fights you get.

it matters because it creates fights.
But he's making more money than any other fighter in his weight class and will be more valuable if he is undefeated.

He's not a headliner. He only has two more fights where he will headline: Donaire and Lomo. After that he will likely fight on undercards, co-features or will have to travel to Japan, South America, Europe and Asia.

As long as he stays undefeated and holds all of the titles he will get fights and get paid.

BS, I was there personally. I don't lie to make Rigo look good either. A few people DID leave but the stands had a good amount of people there.

Why does it matter to you?
He is not paying me so I do not really care how much he makes. He could fight for free for all I care. He still making more than most of the people in this site. Lets say he made $750,000 for Donaire, $51,500 for Ramos. That's not a lot of money comparing to other boxer but he could live very comfortable with that money.

He was fighting for free in the Olympics.

Just don't let him headline again, simple. Just cause he's P4P it doesn't mean he has to headline. Same **** goes for Ward. I mean, unlike Ward, I seriously think Rigo doesn't care whether he headlines or not. He just wants to fight and as long as he gets paid he's good.

rigo is a cool dude. met him a few times, he trains down here. i shot him & coach diaz for the donaire fight.

rigo has a quiet confidence about him. maybe its a cuban thing, gamboa has the same presence.

but rigo definitely isnt oozing charisma... he's the type of dude that can walk into a room without you noticing.

so i definitely understand the difficulty in selling him. being cuban isnt a factor... if a filipino can reach superstardom, so can a cuban. the style is what is killing his marketability.

i say its time to create Guillermo "money" Rigondeux. LOL. add Pitbull "Mr. 305" to his entourage. haha

if you only have enough skills to fight off the backfoot counter-punching, without ever taking the risk of initiating an engagement, it is what it is

fighting a guy like rigo and lara you are the one left having to take all the risks, they will just pull back and pull back and can just sit back all night long

But wow (and I'm just watching this fight for the first time as we speak), the number of empty ringside seats for an HBO main event...I don't recall seeing anything like it before. Now I do understand that most of the fans were there to see hometown guy Glen Tapia, but geeeeez. I'm here in the ninth round and HBO just showed a shot that displayed most of the venue, and I swear about 75% of the place is empty.

I can see Arum in the front row and he looks physically ill.
The guy everyone came to see got brutally beaten and the main event was boring. I thin k its easy to see why they left. HBO should have made kirkland/tapia the main event.

Thats not Rigo's fault that Herschman/TR made a logistical mistake.

They should've set the main event for the paying fans on his one to make sure the crowd stayed.

That's what most the people I know who went there tell me, but that the people who where there for Tapia where the ones mostly seated on that standard tv shot section and thats why it looked so bad since they left after Tapia got his azz beat.
