Yeah but Mares won a title there at least. Sure he was iced by Jhonny, but he has a chance to redemption. He also beat a very solid Ponce there, and has won titles in 3 weight classes. Rigo > Mares as fighters, but Mares has a better resume. He's beaten Darchinyan, Agbeko, Moreno, Ponce, and should have had the Perez win. Rigo's really only beaten Cordoba, Ramos, Donaire where he gets credit. Though Donaire was a HUGE win.

I'd like to see Rigondeaux go to 126 to mix it up with the guys there.

Rigo too small for 126 where guys like Mares are small enough to make 122.

And why does Mares get credit for Agbeko but Rigo doesnt? :/...

I'm not taking anything away from Mares and his win but he faced the smallest FW available IMO. Even tho Ponce was still bigger than him. I think Mares is bigger than Rigo and if Ponce was big next to him imagine Rigo.

It's not hard to have a better resume than Rigo. He turned pro late and hasnt been active nearly enough for whatever reasons.

And Mares rehydrated to 137 vs. Jhonny which people fail to realize. That's 12 pounds bigger than Rigo.

so what im getting is u guys think rigo should stay put n not venture. u guys are basically asking for him to have an obscure career. bad enough he has no fanbase and no real challenges. staying at 122 will not do him any favors because put simply, there is nothing for him to do there. u guys are really weird fans.

Campaign at 122 and only go to 126 for the big money fights the same manner in which Floyd only goes to 154 for the big money fights.

Asking him to go to 130 and campaign regularly at 126 is illogical. What fighter do you know campaigns in a division that fights with a 10-15 pound weight disadvantage EVERY SINGLE TIME HE FIGHTS. Rigo was fighting as such a disadvantage currently at 122, let alone 26 against Donaire and Marroquin.

The problem is you guys are comparing him to multi-division "champions" like Mares, Donarie and Broner that don't fight at their walk around weights. OK. Let's see how many division titles they would have if they fought at the weight they were supposed to and worked their way up from there.

I would like for Rigo to fight three or four times in 2014, clean out 122 as best he can and then maybe think about going up. Realistically though, he could probably go down to 118 or just stay at 122 and fight everyone who moves up. He just doesn't have the size that lends itself well to moving up. He probably has the skill level to do so, but we won't know for sure til he tries.

A good year for Rigo would be any combination of Avalos/Kiko/Quigg/Frampton/Moreno.
