Same was said about Trout. He'd fight Lara, Lara just has to keep winning.
he's awful to watch,i would only be curious to see how canelo would look against a guy like Molina who was beating Kirkland and gave lara a good fight,i thought Molina beat him, that would only be my reason to watch, but I really hope it's not him,i can picture him holding all night...fighters like that shouldn't be on ppv,we are paying to be entertained not bored

I would love to see Canelo beat the s**t out of Lara. Canelo is as strong as Angulo, if not stronger, definitely faster, has better defense, is a better counterpuncher, and definitely more accurate than Angulo, and look what El Perro did to Lara. What does Lara bring to the table though? NOTHING. Lara has no belt (No, I don't count his "Regular" or "Interrim" or whatever belt he has), no fans, and brings no excitement (All he does is run). You notice it's a bunch of Puerto Kneecans hating on Canelo? Haha, they know Cotto didn't want no part of Canelo. Cotto is making a good decision if he fights Martinez though. Win or lose, he can probably still fight Canelo in the future.

Exactly when did Lara become the boogyman? Because from where I'm sitting, one could easily say he got a gift draw against Molina and he went to hell-n-back with Angulo's garbage ass. And honestly, had Angulo not gone Hasim Rahman, Lara appeared to be wearing down and I think he has trouble ending that one on his feet. So again I ask. When exactly did Lara become the boogyman?

Good hopefully they stop pushing for ppv fights. Dude is only 23 Im not about to pay for all his fights from here on out

Hope they push to fight Lara or rather the winner of the Lara/Trout fight. As much as both are hyped neither would be the overwhelming favorite Imo. Both have shown they have major weaknesses to their game. The movement of Lara will trouble Canelo, but saying that it's proven that Lara can be hit and hurt as he was by Angulo who was able to drop him without being a big puncher. Canelo really has to let his hands go if they do fight and throw combinations which he really hasn't done in his last two fights.

I had Lara winning 6-4 and thought he blocked most of Molina's punches, while landing the clean left hands.

IMO, fights going to PPV have more to do with the fighters' demands than their popularity. To my understanding, the network says this is what we're willing to invest in this fight. If the fighters, particularlly the A-side says that's not enough. The network says fine, put you money where you mouth is and sell it on PPV.

Canelo's a good draw. But I think he's more along the lines of what Cotto at his peak was (as far as drawing power) than he is a Floyd or a Manny. And I know people hate to admit it. But a lotta his drawing power was due to him being viewed as a legitimate threat to Floyd. That's gone now and that's a bigger percentage of his "fanbase" than GBP is probably willing to admit. Its just like Pac. Going into the Rios fight, he wasn't seen as a threat to Floyd any more. And that show did probably half of what it would have done prior to Pac losing that "fanbase" of folks who thought he was the man to beat Floyd.

Canelo Alvarez is an awesome fighter and very entertaining to watch. He's been fortunate to have a great promoter and as a result of a combination of what he does inside the ring, the way he presents himself outside, and the promotion he has received he's grown in popularity and is now making great money for his fights. Canelo is obviously not scared of anyone, he's not guna avoid anyone, and I believe him when he says that he's willing to fight anyone they put in front of him. I'll be looking forward to his next fight when it's announced and the only thing I can really ask is that the fight is against a tough and worthy opponent who will make for a competitive and entertaining fight without a predictable outcome.

As far as I know i'd say your absolutely right. Fighter make the most when they fight on ppv and that's why they push for ppv events. On regular showtime he would probably be making no more than 3 mill and after that Floyd fight and how well it sold he feels, and rightfully so if we go by the numbers, he deserves big money.

At the end of the day I enjoy watching him fight and would rather watch him for free specially if it's not against an elite fighter.

His team has mentioned they want to stay at 54 for now. I wouldn't mind seeing that fight though. I'd say that he probably decides to move up in a couple years.
