i think margarito had a better chin than martinez to be honest. margarito had 1 of the best chins iv ever seen. i mean cotto was hitting him with bombs in the first 6 rounds of their 1st fight and he just walked through them. even when mosley beat him, margarito was still smiling as he went down if i remember rightly!!!

Cotto has to box, Martinez doesn't look good as an aggressor, I know he needed to go back to his roots of being an aggressor which really helped his defense even more but in this case he needs to make Martinez reach in and counter him. Very winnable fight for Cotto, very.

Did you see Martinez beat the giant Chavez into retreat mode in that fight? A bunch of people had better hope and pray that Martinez is left with a gimp leg because if he has 90% of the mobility that he once had, he will be countering Cotto with the straight left as he tries to cut the distance. I respect Cotto's courage but people thinking Martinez is done may be in for a big surprise.....or nightmare on fight night.

Martinez had a very limited..VERY LIMITED...amateur career and only had about 16 pro fights or so before the Margs fight. That is completely different to facing Cotto who was at the pinnacle of his career. Had Sergio fought Margarito in 2011 or so, he would have utterly destroyed him with ease.

Cotto is going to get countered and knocked out. Plain and simple. Martinez is a smart boxer also, and hits far to hard for Cotto to last 12. If the fight is in June, then Martinez will be healthy and fine. If Roach thinks Cotto should be fighting at 147, then he damn sure should not be fighting over 154. The size and reach disparity is gaping.

Cotto is just a throwback boxer who fights anyone willing to fight. He gets a pass regardless of who he fights because for every sub-par dude he fights, a great opponent is sure to follow. He has one of the best fanbases in the world but he deserves it, he is a true warrior and gives his all in every fight.
