Comments Thread For: Josesito Lopez: I Don't Need The Fight, Ortiz Needs It

He has been given great opportunities by GB. He beat a mediocre fighter in Aydin to win an interim belt. Then collected a million dollar plus paycheck headlining a card with andre berto and then won the Mayweather lotto and got to fight him for $3 million. Then even though he performed terribly in that fight, he was offered a co main event spot to fight Thurman and rejected it because he says he wants to only fight for a title and wants the winner of Broner-Maidana, to which GB seemed to accept (although its obviously not official.)
This guy has always bothered me for some reason. I feel he vastly overrates himself and GB pumps him up to be great. I know this happens with other people too but thats usually if they are big draws. This guy doesn't even have a fan base. Yet I feel like they give him opportunity after opportunity despite not being that good of a fighter with an inflated title record (most of his belts are interim) , doesn't sell tickets, and isn't really exciting to watch. It really bothered me when he turned down the Thurman fight, a fight I would actually like to see, and wants to wait for a title shot. I just don't get who he thinks he is. He beat Aydin and an overrated Berto to get a title shot and performed awful. Idk some of this might be just because I dont like the guy but I think its completely false to say GB hasn't been more than generous to this guyLast edited by vman075; 12-05-2013, 03:47 PM.Comment

Lopez and Ortiz are both very entertaining and it will be a good rematch but in my opinion Victor will take out Lopez the second time around. He just has to pace himself and break Lopez down this time rather then try to rush a KO. The only reason Lopez broke Ortiz's jaw was because he caught him with his mouth open. Hopefully they set the rematch right after Ortiz vs Collazo so Ortiz can just get it out of the way.Comment
