  • That's it 500,000 PPV or less...Pacman should retire if NO Mayweather fight!

    • Obviously the vast majority of the Chinese market came to see Zhou fight not Manny...I kid. But seriously they probably came to see Zhou more then Manny.

And some people here were dreaming about selling millions PPVs on the Chinese market. And how much did a unit cost? A few dollars?

        • What happened to THE intro of intros ...

"8 division world champion, fighter of the decade, beloved congressman, part-time actor and singer, humanitarian, philanthropist, future president of the Philippines, and recently laid to bed and tucked in by Marquez, Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao.... "

          • Time to PAYUP to Marquez or Bradley, or SHUT UP!

Now they REALLY NEED Bradley or MARQUEZ ( Especially Marquez ) if Pac wants to get back his big ppv numbers and Big paychecks. Pay either Marquez or Bradley 50% or more of the profits or stop crying about why they don't want to fight you! If this ppv with Rios did around 350,000 or 500,000 that means that Arum OVER paid Pac and therefore LOST money. Back when Pac was doing these same numbers he was being paid 4 million or so, not the 18 million he got with Rios. No more ppv for Pac if he still wants $18 million or more pay days, its HBO time now.

You think Arum's greedy ass went to Macau not expecting good number?
If Arum was expecting much better than this, than he was an idiot in this case.

Rios is of Mexican descent, isn't he? That didn't seem to make a difference.

Marquez would help bring in more viewers but I don't know about Bradley. Tim doesn't have a huge fan base and people will remember how boring and one sided their first fight was.

                • Arum is a FOOL! if he had put a great fight on the undercard like Mathysee/Garcia, along with one other scintillating fight, the numbers would be much higher. He is a cheap *******. I don't hope Pac loses money because he does give away to needy but it would be nice if Arum came up short.

Mind u both floyd and Hatton were both undefeated and the fight had crazy buzz. To drop off 1.6mil PPV buys from 1 fight to the next is much worse than dropping 500k buys especially when you're coming off of 2 "official" losses while your opponent is coming off a loss himself. Also hatton was a much bigger draw with a much bigger following than Rios by far.

Rumor has it that Guerrero/floyd did anywhere from 700 - 900k. In Floyds very next fight he did 2.2mil with Canelo. Hmmmm. Wonder why?
It's just funny to me because everyone and their mom still thinks Floyd/Pacquiao would crush PPV records. it wouldn't, people for some rreason over rate these guys' dawing ability.

                    • it would be interesting to see a map of where the buys were bought. there is technology for that. boxing industry needs to step its tech game up.

pac not the mega star among the ones with money but still one of the best boxers of our lifetime.
