Hopkins all the way, unlike a very good percentage of the board, I actually remember prime Hopkins.

Hopkins would impose his size as well.

My gut tells me Hagler would've pulled this one out.

Hopkins doesn't dance on his opponents. He turns it ugly. Hagler loves ugly.

I can respect that but to say especially if it's a 15 rounder, Hopkins had the conditioning to do 15 rounds.

Prime Hopkins was an incredible boxer. A scientist.

Boxer, but not a dancer like SRL. Watch the Echols fight. He deals with punchers by turning the fight ugly. Hagler was great on the inside. That's why gut tells me Hagler would be the favorite.

I take Haggler. We know there would be no KO/TKO and Hops has been special all the way through but I find it hard to imagine Hopkins outworking and outpointing MMH. I would not be inclined to argue with anyone who would pick Hopkins either as that would not shock me either.

I have been lucky enough to witness both men in their primes, I was there when Hagler put a hurting on Duran and I was there was Sugar Ray made Hagler look ordinary. I was also there when Hopkins made a mortal or Tito Trinidad and managed to look like a 25 year old against Pavlik.

Both men were so well rounded in their absolute primes, Hagler was better coming forward and a bit more dynamic but Hopkins has and quite possibly still has, the ability to negate aggressive fighters and to keep them honest. Noway would Hagler go hell for leather like he did against Hearns but Hopkins too would have to be smart.

It's a close fight any which way, I say Hagler wins just because he could hit harder and was active...the latter is Hopkin's kryptonite, even in his prime he liked to frustrate opponents and discourage them from punching, in all his years, I only ever saw one fight discourage Hagler from going full pelt and that was Sugar Ray. No offense to the greatest middleweight of the past 2 decades, but Hopkins is not Leonard.

You didn't have to dance to give Hagler problems. Plus, Hopkins could move very well. And if you're referring to the second Echols fight, yes it got ugly. But in the first fight Hopkins boxed beautifully.

So was Hopkins, judging by what I've seen from both I would actually say Hopkins was better on the inside.
