Gotta love GGG, always fighting nothing but the best. At this rate he will soon have the best resume in the sport.

yes this fight sucks but people think martinez-cotto is a good fight? each guy is trying to cherry pick each other. martinez is cherry picking a bloated junior middle and cotto is cherry picking an old man with no knees. golovking would destroy both if they ever had the balls to fight him but they don't so he has to fight bums.

martinez yes. alvarez no. alvarez is in his prime. martinez is not and has no knees. cotto thinks he can beat him because of that. he didn't want any part of martinez a year or 2 ago. martinez is also looking for an easy opponent he can fight instead of golovkin and that is where cotto comes in. they both need each other to duck the real dangers in their respective divisions. if cotto loses to martinez he can just say "oh well i lost to a guy in a division i shouldn't be fighting in. i'll go back to 154." but if he loses to canelo he will be 0-3 at 154 against legit fighters and he will become irrelevant.

It's not that they don't have the balls, there's no money in a G fight, at least not compared to what HBO is offering to these fighters to face eachother. You certainly would not pick to fight GG over Cotto, Martinez, would you? As a fighter. As a promoter you would get your fighter the biggest money fight possible, cause you also benefit from it. Simple business that people don't seem to grasp. Golovkin just doesn't bring the money that these old veterans are looking for. Cotto isn't looking for a 2-3million dollar pay day, he's looking for $10mill+, Martinez is looking for $5mill+, Golovkin doesn't bring such money.

cotto just fought delvin rodriguez. martinez just fought murray. they weren't complaining about the money for those fights. only when someone dangerous comes around does mr. businessman come out.

Eh, preferred Murray, but he'd rather fight on the undercard for the regular belt
