The reason Don King lost his place was due to his corrupt/rat-like ways even with those who worked alongside him. He burned a lot of bridges chasing money at all costs, whether that was by stealing or backstabbing. He got a bad reputation because of it and networks either had people who he had also been dirty with or simply didn't want to deal with that kind of person.

I remember he could say a name and the WBC would rank them. He was extremely powerful.

If you want some great info on King and just how brilliant and dastardly (did I just say dastardly?) he is than get "Only in America: The life and crimes of Don King" by Jack Newfield. You will gain a whole new respect and hatred for the man.

He had a LOT of influence but he lost all of it. Nowadays he won't even influence ESPN. He did it to himself, he could've built a powerhouse that would've lasted for generations if done right. He was just a snake who did things the mob way and to his own as well. Listen to Hopkins and Tyson, they are prime examples.

Is it only his boxing life or does it talk about how he murdered someone? I don't know if he did or if its a rumor.

Murdered two people if I remember correctly. Its about his entire life. One of the best boxing books I've read. You can probably get it cheap on amazon.

king found it too hard to get away with underhanded deals so he slowed down and started enjoying his money. read that many of his businesses are in his wife and sons name.

One was shot in an attempted robbery of an illegal ******** house he was running and he got self defense. The other was when he stomped a guy to death that owed money and he did like 3 or 4 years. Im a bit hazy on all the details.

Holy shit I've only known him since his early 90s Tyson days (born in the 80s) but he sounded like a badass.
