Floyd wanted to make his PPV debut and Gatti was the only jr welterweight at the time that could make that happen. Buddy McGirt, Gatti's trainer at the time didn't want him to fight Floyd. So Floyd fought "Chop Chop" Corley and Bruseles in eliminators to force Gatti into a fight. That's what happen.

I don't ever remember saying that those guys were better than Mitchell. But he fought the guys he had to fight to get the fight he wanted. Come to think of it, if Pac wants Floyd so bad, why hasn't he done something similar. Floyd holds about 100 belts right now. If Pac wants to fight Floyd so badly, why not contact one of those ABC groups that Floyd holds a belt for and see who he has to beat to become Floyd's mandatory. That's how you force a fight.

You missed my whole point. Leonard's legacy isn't tarnished, and neither is Floyd's. Again, when exactly was Floyd supposed to fight when right before he hit the division, Margarito lost. And in Floyd's run in the division, Margarito continues to lose. Likewise, Pac went out and got KO'd. Therefore hhe has to rebuild.

And for the record, I'm not defending ducking. I'm debating a couple dip****s who are. So convinced that what they believe is true if fact, they can't be rational about the facts. Pre-Rigondeaux and Gonzolaz, Mares-Donaire was the featherweigbt fight everyone wanted. Didn't happen because of GBP-TR. Garcia isn't gonna fight JMM or Bradley. Why? Because of GBP-TR. Are you serious? Floyd and company have had quite a few interviews where they said that they put ultimatums on Manny before he can even "ask" for a fight.

Examples:
- "Manny needs to beat someone like Canelo or that other guy,.... oh yeah, now I remember G.... Guerrero before he can fight Floyd"

- "Manny needs to avenge his losses before he can have a fight with Floyd"

- "Manny needs to join Team Mayweather or no fight"

- "Manny who?"

BTW, the freaking April date is a "tentative" date. So stop with the silly excuses to try to cover up what EVERYONE already knows ... Floyd doesn't want to fight Manny yet .... maybe he wants Manny to lose another step or two or be in a few more wars, just like Cotto, Mosley ..... then he will be PERFECT!
