Was amazing to be honest, nothing like it in terms of atmosphere.

Arguello was the guy that really got me into boxing properly and the first guy I was a real fan of so when he came to the UK to fight it was an absolute no brainer. Almost nothing would have stopped me from attending that.

      Holyfield v Bowe 1
      Whitaker v Chavez Sr.
      Barkley v Hearns

That's just a tip of the iceberg, there were some great fights I managed to weasle my way into during the 80s and 90s and in recent years I've managed to see some big events but sadly they have never lived up to the hype.

Mayweather v Oscar was such a big event and should have fascinated the sporting public but it never lived up to expectations Calzaghe against Hopkins should have been a clash of true legends...again the fight died a slow and pathetic death.
      Wow, great fights!

Gotta say I'm a bit envious. Arguello is one of my absolute favorites. Love the way he conducted himself both inside and outside the ring. Pure class.

damn,, illinois sucks when it comes to big fights,, we get alot of espn level cards but none of the big time fights
Strange how a place can fall off. Chicago use to produce some excellent fighters and be a huge fight town. Casino's have taken over though. Tell me there wouldn't be a better outdoor venue than the place they call "SOLDIER FIELD"!!

The plus side is you get to catch fighters coming up. Some of the best wars I've seen have been on small cards.
