This is literally the most basic of things to understand.

Mayweather officially retired and vacated his belts after Hatton and was removed from all rankings, lists etc. He didn't after Oscar and none of this happened after Oscar.

    Grasping it?

So if Calzaghe returns in 10 years time, The Lineage being "Challenged" at this moment, Ward's, will cease to exist.

    Good Lord...
How do you officially retire if saying it on live tv isn't enough?

What if a fighter just does nothing for a long time and is stripped of his ABC belts but says nothing and comes back to the weight class after 10 years? did he retire by default then?

To answer your question about Joe, if he came back to 168 and Ward is still there and hasn't been beaten I would say yes he has a legit lineal claim.

You actually said if Lennox Lewis returns he'll be the Lineal Champion You actually said this.

It seems that now it's actually sinking into your brain how unbelievably ******ed the simple idea of that is you're beginning to change your mind.
Yeah the lineage can only be lost and never reclaimed if the loss occurs in the ring or your dead/disabled whatever though even after a great length of time a fighter can comeback to the weight class he had the lineage and make legit claim.

I drop that Lineal knowledge on a daily basis.

People think the Lineal is difficult to understand but it's so easy.

        Here's my step by step guide to how Lineage works;

        1. The Lineage can only be won or lost in the ring, or the holder becomes a "no hoper" to return I.e Dead or disabled. It can not be relinquished.

        2. The Lineal Champion can return at any point from "Retirement" and still be the Lineal Champion. The "Magic R Word" has literally no relevance what so ever.

        3. You can win the Lineage in a higher weight class whilst defending a Belt in another weight class as long as the opponent misses the weight

        Really is that simple.

By officially retiring, whoever you need to speak to and thus being removed from all listing and rankings I.e What Erdei did.

If someone hasn't fought in 10 years it's a safe bet that's a retirment stint.

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying as long as the opponent is the lineal champion and is now in the weight class where he missed weight in reagrds to rule #3.

Exactly! So Ward isn't the Lineal Champion at 168 at this moment in time.

It's Joe Calzaghe until the day he becomes a "No Hoper".

                Legit Lineage claims, baby.

He should come back and fight Darren Barker in a amazing epic domestic battle of Britian to see how the best Lineal fighter is.

Legit Lineal Vs Legit Lineal at a catchweight of 170! For Both belts!!!!!!!

There is no list to be removed on in regards to one's lineal title, its a distinction rather than something upheld by an organization, and about the inactivity issue your being presumptuous.

lord ward is the champ at 175, then?

stevenson and kovalev have to come down to 168 if they want to become the LHW champion of the world. you boys are gonna have to starve a little bit if you want some of this.

i really do believe that a lightning bolt will take down anybody who goes up more than a few rounds against prince ward. miracle, act of god, call it what you'd like.

No, he is no longer active and until he is back officially and can make 168 or lower there is no title dispute.
