Did Mayweather actually officially retire after the Oscar fight like Erdei did or did he just say it? Erdei actually vacated and relinquished his title when he offically retired. Mayweather didn't so he didn't actually retire.Yes, and we have to deal with that issue should that happen but Joe is as of a few years ago gone from 168 and boxing and with the new lineage established there is no dispute.
So what about Floyd if we go with your standard? so because he uttered the magic words he was no longer WW champ when he fought Hatton right?
Deal with that issue? There is no issue! You can only lose your title in the ring. "Retirement" is irrelevant. Calzaghe is the Champion you simply cannot deny that by your own logic.
So, you're saying Calzaghe isn't the Champion right now because he's "inactive" meaning Ward is, right? BUT If Calzaghe makes a comeback in say, 5 years time, he's the Lineal Champion aswell? So there will be two Lineal Champs if Calzaghe returned?

For crying out loud, common sense here!!!Comment

Huh? So?
He didn't lose it in the ring did he? So how can he not be Lineal Champion if he never lost it in the ring?
How can a "New" Lineage be established? The Lineage can only be won or lost in the ring or the current Lineal Champion is deemed a "No hoper" I.e Dead or disabled.Comment

So now there is a difference lol you have to fill out a special retirement form? he said it on live tv.Did Mayweather actually officially retire after the Oscar fight like Erdei did or did he just say it? Erdei actually vacated and relinquished his title when he offically retired. Mayweather didn't so he didn't actually retire.

If Joe fought again at 168 or below the Ward lineage can be challenged if not, then no issue.Comment

I already discussed this at length in the thread I made, someone can leave a division and obviously we can't freeze it forever right.Huh? So?
He didn't lose it in the ring did he? So how can he not be Lineal Champion if he never lost it in the ring?
How can a "New" Lineage be established? The Lineage can only be won or lost in the ring or the current Lineal Champion is deemed a "No hoper" I.e Dead or disabled.
So lets say for instance a fighter at 147 is a lineal champ moves up and wins a lineal title at 154 he can go back to 147 after a long time and still be the lineal champion after another lineage was established on the presumption he was never coming back yes?
Its problematic but they can all solve these problems with their fists between lineal title cliamsComment

Of course.
Erdei actually retired, officially. He vacated and relinquished his titles at LHW, was removed from all rankings, lists etc and in turn was no longer the Lineal Champion.
This is literally the most basic of things to understand.
Mayweather officially retired and vacated his belts after Hatton and was removed from all rankings, lists etc. He didn't after Oscar and none of this happened after Oscar.
Grasping it?
So if Calzaghe returns in 10 years time, The Lineage being "Challenged" at this moment, Ward's, will cease to exist.
Good Lord...Comment

Nah because those fights weren't at Welterweight.
But, you have just made an amazing discovery....
FELIX TRINIDAD IS THE LINEAL WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION!!!!!
He never lost his lineage in the ring!!
Just when you think Floyd has no fight for May 2014, guess what we discover?!
May 2014, "Generation Vs Generation" "Lineage Vs Fake Lineage" "Welterweight Championship of the world!"
FELIX TRINIDAD VS FLOYD MAYWEATHER!
oh man I'm falling over laughing

According to you, you can only lose the Lineage in the ring. It cannot be relinquished or vacated, those are your words. So it doesn't matter how long someone doesn't fight at weight class, is "retired" etc, as long as there's a chance they will return, they're still the Lineal Champion.I already discussed this at length in the thread I made, someone can leave a division and obviously we can't freeze it forever right.

You actually said if Lennox Lewis returns he'll be the Lineal Champion
 You actually said this.
It seems that now it's actually sinking into your brain how unbelievably ******ed the simple idea of that is you're beginning to change your mind.Comment
