They are just getting desperate because he's inching closer to retirement, its a strong possibility that he will retire undefeated and they are running out of mythical bad asses to hype up. They have to go all the way up to 160 and even 175 to find a bad ass that suits their agenda.

I would love nothing more than for him to retire, undefeated or otherwise. I wouldn't even mind flomos saying he's the best ever etc. It's him hanging around not giving the fans the fights they want and taking the general public for fools which bothers me.

Bradley is a top p4p fighter as is JMM. Whos to say Bradley wont perform better at WW than at LWW, as Bradley is more comfortable at WW regardless of not having beat any great WW? Bradley is better than Guerrero and Canelo as well as he has basically beat better fighters throughout his career.
Trinidad had never had a middleweight fight yet was favourite against BH and I could find many more examples as well.
