It doesn't help that the present leaders in the PHL government is still what it is (DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE OF CLEAN GOVERNANCE): A bloated corrupt bureaucracy where everyone wants to get a piece of the action, be it money, sex or power, sometimes all at the same time.

Why Pacquiao still wanted to enter politics is probably more about securing his assets with political authority (guess he wasn't coached well enough by his warlord political friend). After all he only represents one district out of 200, that is so low-profile .

And the typhoon relief goods fiasco the leaders keep on bungling until now, that's still happening and the timing of the freeze order is suspect. And a nation reeling from the pork barrel scandal and other things that involve pilfering government treasury is very fresh in people's (mostly taxpayers) minds.

But that's what the PI deserves for voting celebrities, actors, sportsmen into power. The culture of just having a pretty face can get you in power a long way. And all for show.
