Comments Thread For: Dawson Eyes Rematch: I Know I Can Beat Stevenson

Last week in an article on BoxingScene.com, former light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson (31-3, 17KOs) revealed that he is a promotional free agent and that he is planning on taking a couple tune up fights and then wants to get right back in the mix for a world championship.

The 31-year-old Dawson feels that he is still the best fighter in his division and plans on proving it in the ring very soon. He was stopped in the first round by Adonis Stevenson in his most recent fight. Even though he gives Stevenson full credit for the victory, he feels that he should have been given the opportunity to continue the fight. [Click Here To Read More]

You just need to hope Bellew doesn't take the title cos knowing Eddie Hearn they won't leave the UK if he does

They need to make Dawson vs Campillo. Stick that in some undercard somewhere. Both aren't big punchers so it's a safe comeback fight for both.

I think he can too. But its not a good idea to jump right back into that. Get a tuneup and shoot for him late 2014 or 2015.

He could win he just needs to be careful, it was kind of like Wlad/Sanders where he was stalking a dangerous puncher and boom lights out.

That's a good shout. Not sure what Campillo has left though, that was a bad beating he took off Kovalev whereas Dawson went down heavy from a single shot, got up and the ref (rightfully) stopped it. Think this will be a good comeback fight but more to see what Dawson has left rather than Campillo.

This sounds like Dawson's best option

The Amir khan of light heavyweight. I'm not sure he can beat Adonis. Personally I was surprised with the skill Adonis showed in destroying Cloud.
