Of course he doesn't "need" any, but neither did Tiger Woods, or does LeBron James. That said, I think the theory that Floyd doesn't want anybody making a dime off him makes sense. He has been pretty adamant about this notion for a while now.

Companies don't like people with negative reputations and a history of controversial behavior representing their products. They want Ward Cleaver, not Eddie Haskell hawking their products. Mayweather has a reputation as a bad guy and has had a few run-ins with the law. Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield never got any endorsements either. Also, very few boxers get endorsement deals because it is a niche sport, like hockey and very few people know who these guys are.

In fairness, Mayweather did do a commercial for AT&T once. Also, he always has plenty of sponsors sponsoring his fights.
